2 Missing as cars swept away

WHISTLER -- Two men are missing and a third narrowly escaped death after two vehicles early yesterday plunged off a bridge washed away by the worst rains to hit the region in decades.

The family of Jamie Burnette last night were praying the athletic new father somehow managed to make it to safety after being swept away in a torrential downpour at Rutherford Creek sometime after 2 a.m yesterday as he drove home with his brother Casey after a shift at one of the town's bars.

This is just terrible. It's been raining almost non-stop for days. I hope these guys are alive and just somewhere we have yet to discover.
