Explosion Near BA Office/Iran
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 02:09 AM by cal04
A small bomb has exploded near the British Airways office in the Iranian capital Tehran. There were no casualties in the explosion, which officials said was caused by a small bomb being left in a rubbish bin. An Interior Ministry spokesman confirmed that bomb disposal teams had been sent to the scene.

A witness said that the building, which also houses a BP office, was damaged in the blast. The witness said of the device: "It was hidden in a rubbish bin.
"Windows were smashed, there was a lot of damage to the building, parts of the ceiling collapsed."

Police at the scene also cofirmed that a bomb blast had taken place
A BA spokesman in London said: "There has been a very small explosion outside an office block used by a lot of Western companies, including BA which is on the 10th floor.

"There was no damage to the BA office, but the office will be shut for the rest of the day. I understand it was a very small device in a bin."

2. You know what is the saddest thing about your
question, Lecky? (Besides the fact that it was my first thought, too.) It's that when something like this happens, our first thought is "what are they up to now?" And it makes me sad because I can't remember feeling this way about my country before.
