Drifter jailed for threatening President Bush
---------------------
The Associated Press
---------------------
A wheelchair bound drifter was sentenced by a federal judge to 37 months in prison for threatening to blow up President Bush.

John H. Thomason, who was convicted of threatening the life of then-President Reagan in 1981, wrote a threatening letter to Bush earlier this year and told federal agents he planned to pack his wheelchair with explosives to kill himself and the president.

"I think instead of dying of cancer I'll blow myself up when I tour where you are," the letter to Bush said. Thomason, who had been living at a homeless shelter in New Orleans, wrote that he had "already been to prison federally for terroristic threat" on a president.

On Thursday, a federal judge in New Orleans imposed the 37-month sentence, followed by three years of supervised probation.

1. * will claim credit for personally solving this man's homelessness!
Compassionate conservatism in action, since he had been jailed before for the same thing.

3. I'm surprised that there are any crippled people who DO NOT want Bush dead
I'm in a wheelchair and I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Bush enjoy a few years in a wheelchair himself. He's already mentally crippled....

With his lack of bike riding skills, perhaps he'll do it himself. Ironically, I wrecked a bicycle and ended up paralyzed. :)

4. Well, it was his second conviction, although 37 seems like an awful lot
