After U.K. attack, Bush seeks to reassure U.S.
President cites new technology to prevent attacks

BALTIMORE - Nearly two weeks after terrorists launched a deadly strike on the London mass transit system, President Bush sought Wednesday to reassure Americans that his administration is working overtime to prevent attacks in the United States.

"What I'm telling you is that we're focused here," Bush said from the Port of Baltimore, where he got a waterside demonstration of cargo-screening techniques. "When you're at war, you can't lose sight of the fact that you're at war."

Among the state-of-the-art techniques Bush observed were computerized systems, sophisticated radiation detectors and advanced X-ray equipment.

"You can look inside in the truck, and you don't even have to get in it," Bush said afterward to an audience of state and local officials and port employees. "That's called technology. And it's working. It makes a big difference."

1. we are NOT at war Mr. Bush because->
the US Constitution says that only Congress can declare war. As of this date there has been NO declaration of war from Congress. Mr. Bush, you are at war illegally and immorally. Please speak as follows: "I am at war..."

3. THANK YOU!
It is so rarely heard. But you have spoken the truth.

And thanks for helping to keep me sane. The truth is a dim light nowadays.

2. Thank you so much for this
I'm glad you have posted the Presiden't wise words here. I was just wondering to myself earlier this morning whether or not we should lose sight of the fact that we're at war, being at war such as we are. And President Einstein cleared that right up for me.

And as a bonus, I got to find out what technology is. I had previously misunderstood the definition of technology, erroneously believing that it extended far beyond the boundaries of looking inside trucks. That's called technology.

Don't you just love it when this great, learned man takes time out to explain the way things are to us commoners?
