I hope they got somebody but why and how could they be that stupid to be hanging around? But could go figure blowing people around the place you live is way more stupid and could have it's own kind of blow-back.

Camera phones key in hunt for killers
Peter Wilson, Europe correspondent
July 12, 2005

MOBILE phones have already shaped the media coverage of the London bombings. Now they have been identified by British police as an important source of clues about the killers.

The cameras that allow many phones to take still and video images have turned witnesses into instant cameramen, making Thursday's blasts the first major news event in which hundreds of images taken on mobile phones were broadcast or published by the media.

Newspapers and television stations have carried images of poor resolution but startling immediacy that were taken by passers-by and even those caught in the train and bus explosions.

Police appealed yesterday for such images to be sent to Scotland Yard's own special email address so investigators could use them to search for clues and get a better understanding of exactly what happened.

19. It sounds like they did a superb job to me
They didn't even have to invade other countries and kill thousands of people to make the arrests. And from what I've heard so far, they haven't had to resort to taking away the civil liberties of citizens in order to accomplish this.

24. 4 From Britain Carried Out Terror Blasts, Police Say
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 11:17 PM by IChing
By ALAN COWELL and DON VAN NATTA Jr.
Published: July 13, 2005
LONDON, July 12 - The British police said Tuesday that a team of four British-born men had carried out Thursday's deadly terrorist attacks in London, including at least one possible suicide bombing, which would be the first in Britain.

The breakthrough came as the police searched six houses in the northern city of Leeds and found explosives in one home and in an abandoned car parked at the train station in Luton, just north of London. The police also arrested one man in West Yorkshire, whom they did not identify.
In Leeds, residents said several young men - whose families initially moved to Britain from Pakistan - had traveled to London late last week and had not been seen since.

The police have identified the four men, who they said were all in their late teens and early 20's, but did not release their names. The four were recorded by closed-circuit television cameras arriving at King's Cross station in London carrying backpacks at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, just 20 minutes before three of the bombs ripped through subway trains. A fourth bomb exploded at 9:47 a.m. on the No. 30 bus in central London. The police say 52 people died in the four attacks.>>>>snip

29. Let me get this straight...
100K +/- wounded and/or dead Iraqis.

1,800 +/- dead US troops.

10K +/- wounded/maimed US troops.

Iraq destroyed & maybe on the way to civil war, but fer sure a brainless asshole in the white house insists we're fighting in Iraq to protect US soil.

MEANWHILE... 4 possible Pakistani nationals (a leap on my part, not reported), Pakistan being an ally (?) NOT IRAQIS whose country we've destroyed, bomb London. Allies bombing allies???

America is sooooo phucked.

31. They had just returned from Pakistan
...although they were British by nationality (originally from Pakistan), two of the suicide bombers had just returned from Pakistan (an "ally" in the WOT)...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,22989-1691994,00.html

...Intelligence agencies say that at least two of the men had recently returned from Pakistan. All four were British, but with origins in Pakistan. MI6, MI5 and British diplomats were in touch with the Pakistani authorities last night to try to track down any connections with terrorists there...

33. Merka reaps what it sows.
Sadly, that applies rather indiscriminately to their offshore coalition. Most sadly, the targets and victims are not people in power, but innocent, “soft targets” (people). Now, if *’s Iraq debacle is of any worth, it tells us that the “insurgency” has garnered an expertise in “hard targets” (Diplomats/politicians), but they are still keen on blowing away anybody without any justification other than a fucking fatwa agenda.

And to paraphrase the words of Senator Derbin…

(A segue to that)
It’s going to happen here, again; most likely in 2006, prior to our mid term elections. Merka will then take it up the ass until they eventually beg to be a non-controlling partner with the rest of the world.

I’m just saying what I sense. I have no knowledge of any active conspiracies. Stupid is what Karma undoes.

34. Interesting last paragraph
One motive for any attacks, the message said, was the alleged desecration of the Koran at the American military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, where more than 500 detainees are being held.
