CIA Leak Quotes (AP pulling all the lies together)
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 04:39 PM by maddezmom
By The Associated Press

Some of the denials, other comments, at media briefings by White House spokesman Scott McClellan when asked by reporters whether President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, was involved in the leak of a CIA officer's identity:

Sept. 29, 2003

Q: You said this morning, quote, "The president knows that Karl Rove wasn't involved." How does he know that?

A: Well, I've made it very clear that it was a ridiculous suggestion in the first place. ... I've said that it's not true. ... And I have spoken with Karl Rove.

Q: It doesn't take much for the president to ask a senior official working for him, to just lay the question out for a few people and end this controversy today.

A: Do you have specific information to bring to our attention? ... Are we supposed to chase down every anonymous report in the newspaper? We'd spend all our time doing that."

2. Finally - the media is starting to tell the real story!
Heh - squirm, Rove, squirm while you wait for Fitzgerald to indict you!

This has been a VERY good day!

That'll learn the Bush Administration that it's not nice to fool the CIA and put reporters in jail.

3. Transcript of the conversation
Q: You have said that you personally went to Scooter Libby (Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff), Karl Rove and Elliott Abrams (National Security Council official) to ask them if they were the leakers. Is that what happened? Why did you do that? And can you describe the conversations you had with them? What was the question you asked? . . .

*: Any of you guys know whe outed that Plame person?

KKK. R.: Depend's on what the meaning of "out" is. . .

13. "out" is a very elusive concept bearing some relation to "in" which
is equally elusive, just as "is" is. Welcome to DU mikeididdy!
:hi: ...Hi is not elusive..it means glad to have you around!

22. I've often seen this picture of *
And I've wondered on what occasion was it taken? It's one of the most telling photographs of the state of *'s soul I've ever seen and I don't understand why other people (besides us) realize what a spoiled, crazy, petulant person he is.

I was around (albeit young) during Nixon and I saw the same trend but I think it's worse now because so many people have PTSD from 9/11 and don't realize what it is so they drink the Kool-Aide like it's Mother's Milk.

41. I think the only way Rove stays out of jail is a pardon.
This was a serious breach of national security.

One of our top agents working on the spread of nuclear materials was compromised.

But then again, nobody had sex, so maybe it's no big deal.

11. Between Oct. 10, 2003 and July 11, 2005 (21 months!) ...
... there's no record of the White House prostitutes press having asked a single question regarding the Plame retaliation and career assassination? Not one? Is that why the stenographers presstitutes couldn't figure out when McClellan might have gotten direction to make no comment on an "on-going criminal investigation"??

Bush* lawyered up.
Cheney lawyered up.
Rove lawyered up.
Who else lawyered up?

The Fitzgerald federal grand jury probe has now taken longer than all of Watergate! And no questions?

The fucking corruption is beyond obscene!

24. How about when bringing up our National security also
bring up the fact that she was working with WMD's.
They can use them to lie us into a war, but yet forget the fact that this is what she was working with.

A July 11, 2003 e-mail from Cooper to his bureau chief indicated that Rove had told Cooper that it was Wilson's wife who authorized her husband's trip to Niger, mentioning that she "apparently" worked at the CIA on weapons of mass destruction issues. Newsweek reported that nothing in the Cooper e-mail suggested that Rove used Plame's name or knew she was a covert operative.

25. With all due respect to Ron Ziegler
When he was confronted with an obvious prevarication
(putting it mildly) he would simply respond "That statement
is no longer operational." It will be interesting what
response McClellan will come up with when faced with the
same situation. Hope the MSM have enough courage to
keep his feet to the fire. They will, I'm sure, be
offered many occasions in the very near future by
keeping this situation on the front burner.

..call for Rove to resign on the front page.

"Top editors of the NY TIMES made the decision Monday afternoon to turn up the heat on White House adviser Karl Rove.

The TIMES is planning to lead Tuesday editions with growing calls for Rove's resignation, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT..."

is behind the tossing. Has he used up his usefulness. I don't trust that bunch in DC and am always suspicious as to why they are doing something since it is always CYA for them.

35. We've known all along it was KKKarl...
Look back into the Plame threads of last year....from H20Man...

It was pretty much determined that rove was the leaker and Cheney knew as well...

So hang on to your hats kids...the real proof is flying around now and we've all waited for the shit to hit the fan...and we will see indictments yet....If Rove gets indicted he will roll over like the squeling pig he is...and give up Cheney to save his ass....

Because we ALL KNOW who is the evilest DICK in the White House....

We all knew the Plame Affair was going to bring this corrupt white house down.

39. Could this story really damage Rove? I still doubt it
I keep expecting the WH to throw out a pardon to Rove or to just bully everyone into dropping the story or something.

And I have a question. Cooper said he would reveal his source to the Grand Jury, did he do that already? Do we know what he said exactly?

Either he knowingly lied or administration officials lied to him. If he lied to the press the press should demand his resignation. If administration officials lied to him, he should resign in protest (if he has an ounce of integrity).
