Baghdad - A roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army convoy exploded Saturday causing a number of casualties and destroying a military personnel carrier, witnesses said.

A car bomber struck a joint U.S.-Iraqi military patrol late Friday killing two Iraqi soldiers and injuring three in Fallujah. Witnesses reported casualties among the Americans.

A U.S. soldier was killed and three were wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated close to their vehicle near the northern city of Balad, the U.S. military said late Friday.

The wounded soldiers were taken to a Coalition Forces medical treatment facility, the statement said.

Meanwhile, top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani told visiting members of the National Assembly that the constitution should be written according to the teachings of Islam.

3. Again, I thought Fallujah was no longer in the hands
of the terrists. Cheney sez so. It's safe there. Really.
