Some of sacked cabinet to demand Arroyo quit-source

MANILA (Reuters) - Some members of the Philippine cabinet sacked by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will urge her on Friday to step down as well, one of Arroyo's advisers told reporters.

But there were other blocs in the cabinet not prepared to make that demand now, said the adviser, an official in the government of a previous president who asked not to be identified.

Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima was holding a news conference on Friday morning.
