Taliban Threatens To Kill U.S. Navy SEAL: Vow To Release Video Of The Man'
WASHINGTON (AP) A purported Taliban spokesman reiterated a claim Thursday that his group is holding a missing U.S. Navy SEAL and said insurgent leaders had decided to kill him. He offered no proof to back up the claim.

U.S. military spokeswoman Lt. Cindy Moore, reacting to the claim, said: "We hope he is not in harm's way. We are making every effort to locate him."

The purported spokesman, Mullah Latif Hakimi, said previously that the Taliban are holding the commando, who has been missing in Afghanistan for 10 days. Hakimi frequently contacts news agencies claiming to speak for the rebels, but his information in the past has proven exaggerated or untrue, and his exact tie to the Taliban leadership cannot be independently verified.

"This American will never be forgiven. Definitely he will be killed," Hakimi said. He said the group would release a video after the man's death.

John Adam
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

John Adam was also the name given by Islamic militants of a United States soldier that they claimed to have captured. A statement signed by the "Mujahedeen Brigades" claiming that they had captured "American military man John Adam" was posted on a Web site used by Islamic militants in January, 2005, with a photo purporting to be Adam sitting with his hands tied behind his back with a rifle pointed at him.

The U.S. military stated that no soldiers have been reported missing in Iraq, and a spokesperson for American toy manufacturer Dragon Models USA, Inc. stated that the figure in the photo actually appears to be one of the "Special Forces Cody" action figures they manufacture, and the rifle pointed at "Adam" one of the accessories that comes with the toy.

Those Punk-Ass Mujahedeen Brigades & Their Dolly
So what is up with those corny wanna-be terrorists/ Islamic extremist, the Mujahedeen Brigades? They posted this on a website, according to CBSNews.com:

"Our mujahedeen heroes of Iraq's Jihadi Battalion were able to capture American military man John Adam after killing a number of his comrades and capturing the rest," said the statement, signed by the "Mujahedeen Brigades."

6. Many on DU predicted that the soldier would be videotaped & executed.
If this prediction comes true, I pray his execution will be merciful, not only for his sake and the sake of his friends and family, but for the retribution that will surely follow if they execute him by beheading him. I don't think we can take ratcheting things up much more, it's so out of control already.

My prayers to all involved, all involved, that they may find wisdom to end this before it destroys humanity forever.

7. I hope this is just a hoax
The Taliban is not known for their honesty: they are more like the Bush team than they realize. A videotaped execution of a US serviceman would not only be a tragedy, but it would also play into the hands of the Michael Savage's of the country. I can just see it now, as people like him and all the right wing bloggers put the gruesome video on their webpages to whip up support for even more war. I just hope this is some Taliban wacko blowing smoke.

8. If they have him...
...they will execute him horribly in full "living" color. Their past behavior with the russians has been appalling from our standpoint and the video is simply to good a propaganda bonanza to forego....From their standpoint neither the Russians NOR ourselves have much to point to that would indicate that humanitarian concerns tempered our behavior in their country...if I thought it would make one iota of difference in their treatment of this young man I would readily drop to my knees and beg for mercy for this young man,but I fear our countries actions have sealed his fate...God have mercy...

9. Very suspicious.
I don't know if I'm buying this story. It sounds too much like a setup. They are using this missing SEAL for a plant story to stir up some American hatred and attempt to renew the vigor in favor of the war. If it is true the captured soldier is in for a very bad time. There was a reason the Russian troops kept cyanide pills in their collars to use in case they were captured.
