9/11(Giuliani) mayor near London bomb scene (BBC News)
(Sounds like Giuliani hasn't had his Spin ver. upgraded yet, he's still repeating the 2004 version of the spin.)

9/11 mayor near London bomb scene

The mayor of New York during the 9/11 attacks, Rudolph Giuliani, has spoken of the "eerie" experience of being in London near one of Thursday's blasts.

Thursday, 7 July, 2005, 16:36 GMT 17:36 UK

He told the BBC's Radio Five Live he was near Liverpool Street station, where the first of four blasts on the London transport network was reported. He described the explosions as "dastardly, cowardly acts".

Mr Giuliani was praised for taking to the streets to reassure New Yorkers immediately after the 9/11 attacks. "My heart goes out to the people affected by this, it reminds me so much of September 11," he said.

He said no nation had offered the US more support after the 9/11 attacks than Britain - and now that Britain had been attacked, it was the turn of the US to offer its ally support. "I was right near Liverpool station when the first bomb went off and was notified of it," he said. "It was... very eerie to be right there again when one of these attacks takes place."

Mr Giuliani said the best way to react to such attacks is "to stand up to them and do everything we can to support the people that were affected by it - but not to let these terrorists affect our way of life".

good thing i'm not near a teevee - the thought of enduring his awful, spittle-soaked voice as it tries to make its way through his dental work is too horrible to contemplate further.

26. I saw him on BBC World
He was wearing his American Flag pin.

I'm sorry, I have a problem with that....wearing your "American pride" on your lapel in a foreign country that has just been attacked.

22. Word choice 101: "dastardly"
Will someone inform this assclown that "dastardly" is so outmoded, he sounds like he's describing a heroine tied to train tracks?

A faintly cartoonish air hangs upon the word. Dastardly and Muttley, anyone?
