3. yeah I heard that
he mentioned how all the G8 countries are working to stop poverty in Africa, clean up the environment and these terra-rists are off killing innocent people.

The problem is that yeah, some bad people are killing innocents, but Bush isn't going to pony up more money on Africa and he's systematically destroying the earth with his environmental policies.

Way to cast yourself in the best light possible. Jeez.

23. He clearly tried to turn it into a black and white...
...situation. The G-8 as if they are the servants of God bringing goodness to the world...and the evil killers of freedom. This is a sign of his mental illness...according to "Bush on the Couch".
Any rational person would see that those who are responsible of the blasts in London are evil. And the G-8 mostly good (I hope) but also evil. Members of G-8 responsible for the deaths of innocents.

4. No plan to raise alert level...
(CBS/AP) Top U.S. counterterror officials say there are no plans to increase the current alert status following the attacks in London.

The Homeland Security Department says there are also no indications of an imminent attack on U.S. interests. A Homeland Security official tells CBS News Correspondent Peter Maer the government's "interagency incident management group" is meeting to "assure full situational awareness." Other officials are monitoring events in London from the White House Situation Room. A Homeland Security spokeswoman says the department is in close contact with British intelligence and other agencies.

President Bush, at the G8 summit in Scotland, had a 10-minute video conference call with National Security advisers back in the U.S., reports CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.

Terrorism analyst Neil Livingstone tells CBS radio affiliate WTOP in Washington that "it's not a question of if, but when" the U.S. will be attacked again by al Qaeda.

"This is a war that's going to have peaks and valleys," Livingstone said. "Since 9/11, nothing has happened. A lot of Americans think that Osama bin Laden's on the run, therefore we have nothing more to fear."

The explosions on London's transit system prompted heightened security on Washington's subway system. A Metro spokeswoman said officials were "ramping up security immediately," including the use of bomb sniffing dogs. Officers will have a higher visibility, she said, and will be carrying machine guns.

57. no, it is appropriate anytime
The terror alert scam is an unfunded mandate - every time they raise the threat level, local and state officials have to follow certain protocols which take them away from what they should be doing. Anytime you divert funds away from helping the people, assholes like Grover Norquist and other neocons are gleeful - starve the beast. It channels more money into "security firms" who are all big Bushco supporters.

6. "I yield to these people."
I just heard Bush comments on a radio news clip.

He said: "I yield to these people ... I will not yield to these people."

He mispoke and corrected himself. But his misstatements I think always reveal his real thoughts. He knows he needs a crisis to pull his chestnuts out of the fire politically here in the good ol'U.S.A. He "yields to these people" because he knows this is what he needs to keep his phony war going and to keep the American public living in fear that he can manipulate.

I hate the terrorists that cause this fear and anxiety and kill and hurt innocent people. But let's be real clear. Bin Laden is still free because Bush's incompetence and corruption put us in the sink hole of Iraq.

22. I think it was the voice

speaking.

If it had been Bush On His Own he would have said:

See you'll, I been tellin you that these terrarists are mean evil criminals that don't like our freedom.

They just don't want us to help those people in Africa.

But we will get these evil doers because we believe in God and Oil and Money and we want to stay in charge of the whole world.

It is hard work, but we White rich people must continue to tell these stupid bastards what they must believe and what they must think.

God is on OUR side, not their side!

We will win!

only last week, RumsFailed testified before Congress. The news was revealed that the US is, in fact, negotiating with the Iraqi Insurgents.

When asked about it, RumsFool said, "Oh, this sort of thing goes on all the time". Goodness, gracious.

You're absolutely right.

36. The hollow rhetoric of the man is really painful.
Bush says:

I spent some time recently with the prime minister,Tony Blair; had the opportunity to express our heartfelt condolences to the people of London, people who lost lives.

Had the opportunity? Did he hit the trifecta again?

Also, how do you express condolences to dead people. Maybe he really does talk to God.:puke:

It is so sad that this automaton is considered the leader of the free world.

This is what a human being would have said:

I want to express our heartfelt condolences to Tony Blair, the people of London and especially the people who lost loved ones. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry if that's harsh but when will he get it?

"On the one hand, we got people here who are working to alleviate poverty and to help rid the world of the pandemic of AIDS and that are working on ways to have a clean environment. And on the other hand, you've got people killing innocent people. And the contrast couldn't be clearer between the intentions and the hearts of those of us who care deeply about human rights and human liberty, and those who kill, those who've got such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks."

Slappy was voting against all those initiatives he invoked. He did not side with Blair or the other leaders on debt relief, increased aid or Kyoto.

We're killing innocents every day in Iraq. So yes, the contrast is amazingly clear.

but one of the news stations showed him walking alongside the building and he grabbed at his right side with his left hand two or three times--i thought he was trying to scratch but maybe it felt like his "listening device" was loose or starting to fall.

any other clips that show him walking the long walk to the reporters? we could watch it again.

if you look as he approaches the reporters, is there a pucker in his jacket on the right above the pocket?

We were talking about that on the way to work today. Has he ever freaking ridden a bus in his entire LIFE? (or had to?) Does he really care about the millions of people who need to commute to work on mass transit (given how he doesn't seem committed to funding it I would guess not.) Like many people who refuse to give up their cars or want to commit tax money to transit, I don't think he cares at all.
