Pastor won't apologise (Aus)
A CHRISTIAN pastor ordered to apologise for vilifying Muslims says he will go to jail before he says sorry for his comments.
Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) deputy president Michael Higgins ordered the evangelical order, Catch the Fire, to apologise over statements made in a speech, comments on a website, and in a newsletter.

In a landmark ruling by the tribunal, the tribunal found in favour of the Islamic Council of Victoria, which took the action against Catch the Fire and two of its pastors.

The comments made by members of the evangelical movement included that Muslims were liars and demons, they were planning to take over Australia, and that Islam was inherently a violent religion.

1. I don't like that he was sentenced to jail for his comments
I hope he was actually sentenced for something else...because that is out-and-out wrong.

4. Well, the pastor hasn't been sentenced to jail...
but the option is there if he doesn't apologise.

5. Indeed.
I may not like or agree with his opinion, but I do support his right to it... And he is standing by his conviction, unlike some american evangelicals who will say the stupidist things to please their flock, then turn tail as soon as there is some public outcry.

I think good people also stand by their convictions, they just don't make the news.
