Oven killer given care home order

A woman who killed her three-week-old baby by burning him on a cooker top has been sentenced to round-the-clock supervision in a care home.

Cheryl Green, 40, of Peckham, south London, was made the subject of a "guardianship order" at the Old Bailey.

Green admitted manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility.

It is understood that her son Mickle, who was born prematurely, was found burning on a cooker on 22 April last year. He suffered 90% burns and died.

Europe is WAY ahead of us in this. They consider it in the death of any child under the age of two, and most often, it's the right diagnosis.

Don't kid yourself that it doesn't exist. Usually it kills women. Occasionally it kills children. Sometimes it kills them all. It's a deadly disease requiring treatment.

Mental health is the red headed orphan stepchild in this country. We simply don't have the will to spend the money or do the work. Don't kid yourself that it doesn't exist because we're not addressing it. It does, and it kills.

When the hell are we going to put this insane so-called "leader" of ours out of his misery so we can concentrate on the things that are really bringing this country down? We not only have severs PPD in this country, but famine, inadaquate health care, peer pressure & bullying, whackos that like to mess with kids, then kill them, corporations that knowingly make & sell unsafe products...... enough said.
