Taylor claims immunity - Liberia
Sierra Leone - Sierra Leone's UN-backed war-crimes court said on Monday it had agreed to hearings on ousted Liberian President Charles Taylor's argument of immunity from war-crimes prosecution.

Lawyers for Taylor have told the court they will argue Taylor's 2002 indictment was invalid because Taylor was then a head of state, and therefore allegedly immune, the court said in a statement.

The UN-Sierra Leone court set hearings from October 31 to November 7 to hear arguments from Taylor and others.

The hearings will mark the first convening of the court's appeals section.

Taylor's indictment for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity was made public on June 4.

If Bush and Blair can be immune from 'war crimes and crimes against hunmanity' INVESTIGATION, why shouldn't Taylor? Why don't the jurors decide the innocence?
