BAGHDAD, May 27 (Reuters) - The U.S. military has launched an investigation into the death of an Iraqi inmate who was shot on Friday at the U.S.-run Abu Ghraib jail, where a prisoner abuse scandal erupted last year, an army statement said.

The brief statement gave no information on the circumstances of the shooting.

"An Abu Ghraib detainee died from gunshot wounds May 27 at approximately 5 a.m. (0100 GMT) after being transported to a coalition medical treatment facility," the statement said.

they might as well just write out the results at their desks. They will find no wrong-doing by anyone and either the Iraqi will have been shot in self-defense, or the Iraqi will have shot himself.

I would prefer they didnt waste our tax dollars by pretending to investigate. Instead they should just declare all coalition soldiers exempt from the law and go about there day.
