Red Cross Needs Cash
The American Red Cross said Monday that its disaster fund has been nearly depleted, after it spent three times more in aid to victims in the past year than it received in contributions.

Ray Steen, Red Cross spokesman in Washington, D.C., said that if the fund is depleted the Red Cross would have to tap other accounts, such as money used to administer blood donations.

"We will continue to meet immediate disaster needs," he said. "But something is going to have to be sacrificed."

'Well, Elizabeth, she's done wonderful things at the Red Cross'. I heard Bob Dole and the GOP whores say that a hundred times on the GOP news networks, ABC, FOX, CNN, NBC, as they campaigned for her. The discussion stopped at that. None of the whore reporters would ever ask for any details and it seems the sheeple never desired any more than that. Who's at fault?

1. why doesn't Libby Dole donate her salary and
get her lucky ducky hubby to donate the proceeds from his Viagra commecial to the Red Cross -

then all those in the top 1% can donate what they don't have to pay in taxes to the Red Cross -

I hear the Cheneys are getting at least $100,000 in savings from taxes - perhaps they'll donate the difference -

Disasters don't play politcs (altho politicians use disasters). Who will be there for the victims?

3. after the fleecing?? Broke already??
What was that I heard after 9/11? Didn't the Red Cross take in boatloads of money and then announce they'd be using chunks of it to build new facilities etc? Not dispersing it to the vicitms as the donors intended.......

They blew through all that already eh? Well let's hope they built facilities that will enable them to reclaim their monopoly on the incredibly profitable blood business because, in this economy and the bad taste left after the 9/11 fiasco, I don't foresee a big boost in donations anytime soon.

Julie

P.S. For an insightful look at Liddy's years there I recommend a book entitled Bad Blood. I don't recall the author's name but WOW!! I highly recommend it!
