EVACUATION at Capitol WASHINGTON DC

They are reporting that the WH is being emptied as well, fighter jets overhead (one just whipped by my house); they believe it is an airspace incursion...perhaps accidental?

One reporter said that the phrase "enemy aircraft overhead" was used.

Damn! Am watching this on CNN right now, and due to my complete lack of any faith in this administration, I have to wonder if:

A) As the "story" unfolds, will the pilot turn out to be a "brown-skinned" person?

B) Is there anyone on Du who has seen the footage of the grounded plane that can find out who owns the Lancaster-based Cessna?

C) Is this whole "emergency" a Rove wet dream brought to fruition to help push the poll numbers up, as well as to divert attention from the bad press and reception Shrub has been receiving while on his mega-taxpayer paid expense trip abroad?

Is there any journalist bold enough, savvy enough to dig deep enough into this continuing alert BS that consistently happens when the numbers are down?

I am so goddam sick of the current state of our out-of-control government!

It would be nice to feel confident that the boobs in charge wouldn't disrupt government business and scramble jets for political points. But their inaction on 9/11 and the propaganda they've been spewing since 2001 leave me wondering if this is a serious threat or not. I hope it's not, even if that means the BFEE is beyond cynical. But THAT would mean they're wasting everyone's time and money.

WASHINGTON - The White House and the Capitol building were evacuated Wednesday as police told people to leave quickly.

"You've got one minute," one officer yelled to a group including NBC correspondent Chip Reid.

A motorcade stormed out of a side street next to the White House, NBC correspondent Norah O'Donnell reported from a cell phone as she evacuated.

No threats had been reported, and officials offered no explanation.

A small plane with mechanical troubles of some sort went off course according to Blitzer.

It's a glorious, absolutely clear day here: hard to understand how a pilot could get lost, but I bet he's not lost now! He's probably set down at an AF base & shaking hard.
