Spokane Mayor Denies Abusing Kids

AP) Spokane Mayor Jim West is denying allegations of past sexual abuse of children and said he intends to finish his term in office.
In a news conference Thursday, he said, "I am a law-abiding citizen."

He denied allegations of having sex with children two decades ago.
In an e-mail to city employees, West apologized for bringing embarrassment to the mayor's office. He also said he considered his private life off-limits.

The Spokane Spokesman Review reported that two men have accused West of molesting them when they were boys and he was a sheriff's deputy and Boy Scout leader.

The paper also reported that West offered gifts, favors and a City Hall internship over the Web site Gay.com to someone he believed was 18. He actually was a forensic computer expert working for the newspaper....

yeah, OK, so he's denying it.... nonetheless, whenever you have mayor and abusing kids in the same headline, it doesn't matter what else is there. He's toast.
