Senate Urged to Confirm Bolton Nomination
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 9:47 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush on Thursday urged the Senate to confirm John Bolton as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations despite questions about his temperament that have stalled the nomination.

Bush blamed partisan bickering in the nation's capital -- ''where sometimes politics gets in the way of doing the people's business'' -- for a delay in a committee vote on Bolton's nomination to be the United States' top diplomat at the world body.

''John's distinguished career and service to our nation demonstrates that he is the right man at the right time for this important assignment,'' Bush said. ''I urge the Senate to put aside politics and confirm John Bolton to the United Nations.''

16. Guys: www.senate.gov - listings for every senator, including yours.
AND OTHER PEOPLE'S, too.

They ALL need to be urged to vote bolton DOWN.

Do you want THAT - as YOUR voice and face to the world at the UN? Do you REALLY want THAT speaking and acting for you? DO THEY??????

19. I doubt he's capable
But he's really on a losing streak. SS, CAFTA, Bolton, DeLay, judges...it's all turning to shit for the useless punk. Lula just told us to go fuck ourselves, FTAA-wise, and that means most of South America is going to turn on us.

Nice job, you smirking, giggling, murderous, moronic thug.

5. A diplomat with a short fuse--the right man at the right time. Yeah, right
I hope the Dems and the skeptical Repubs stay firm on this. It really is all too much.

6. "Unsubstantiated allegations of abusive personal behavior and possible
instances of misuse of his government power derailed a key vote by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Bolton's nomination on Tuesday. A new vote is probably three weeks off, giving Democrats time to investigate new charges and the White House time to lobby disaffected Republicans."

"Unsubstantiated" so says the NYT.

I think some of the allegations have been substantiated by Carl Ford. :wtf:

8. "Partisan Bickering"....
hey, idiot, it was YOUR side that decided to table the nomination. What a putz, he has no idea of what he's saying, ever. His "shoot the mouth off from the hip" tendency makes him appear a total fool.
But 51% of the American people just love his "plain spoken" ways. :eyes: Which just goes to show that 51% of American people are mindless morons as well.

Voinovich? Not a Democrat...

Somebody up there really needs to help the pretzeldent out a little. Reading about bills he's signed and being surprised by them... calling dissent within his own party 'partisan bickering'...

Sheesh... why am I surprised. He can barely string a coherent string of words together to form a sentence without his handlers.

The most embarassing president ever. At least Nixon's relatives are probably grateful for his service.

11. "Ugly SIde Of Washington?"
I've got news for Scotty, there is NOTHING uglier than Buscho's "Culture of THUGS" mentality where behavior like Bolton's is encouraged and rewarded.

Is Abu Graib really a surprise with these pathological abusers being at the top? They're all a bunch of mean frat boy bullies who reward their own kind, to the shame and embarassment of the civilized people in this country...

15. This is about attacking Iran.
I predict that Bush will pull out all the stops to get Bolton into the UN. Bush is on a tight schedule (as Scott Ritter revealed) to get everything set-up for attacking Iran by the end of June. Bolton at the UN will help set the propaganda stage for the next war.

I also predict that Bolton will probably get confirmed.
