33. You may discover that you are quite the psychic!
At this point, nothing could surprise me.

It just seems that when things aren't going well, they pull out the ORANGE alert. Only problem is, ORANGE is associated with revolutions abroad, to say nothing of Gitmo jumpsuits.

But I wouldn't be surprised if we have yet another reason to "be very afraid."

25. Should Be Called Job Disapproval Rating
especially since more folks disapporve than approve of the job he is doing.

I know I dislike him at least 3% more today than I did yesterday. Hell, he's running negative numbers with me . . . for a couple of years now, he's owed me!

8. Truman
I belive Truman had a rating point in the twenties at one point in his presidency. Amazing that now he is considered one of the top five presidents ever. He was just completely missjudged while president. I believe once Bush-Boy is out of office he will be viewed as one of the worst five presidents of all time.

7. I wonder if he's dropping in popularity that much...
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 10:05 AM by calipendence
... or if the polls are starting to show more accuracy now than they did before the election. You know if they shows and approval rating this low before the election we'd have had Ukraine (and probably stormed Blackwell's, etc. offices) had that those ratings been shown when Bush "won".

Of course, they still could be inaccurate too, and his popularity actually might be touching the high 30's now.

35. Incredibly significant.
It means that people are starting to lose any ambiguity they might have had about the terrible job he is doing. That is the sound of negativity about him firming up, and that means that more people will be openly expressing their displeasure.

42. I found it interesting b/c the reverse is true in the "Somewhat" category

Strongly Approve - 24%
Somewhat Approve - 22%
Somewhat Disapprove - 15%

Strongly Disapprove - 38%

It seemed like the ones who feel strongly are disapproving, while the ones who don't feel as strongly are more approving.

If I'm reading that right.

17. it's hitting the Friday night pizza crowd
our local Dominos (ya know - Dominos delivers and all of that) -- they are adding a $1.00 delivery charge for each order to help offset gas expenses incurred by their drivers

FYI: delivery people are responsible for gassing up their own vehicles. Usually with tips you are able to cover the night's worth of driving and still come out ahead... but with gas $2.25/gal I bet the drivers are LOSING money

15. Rasmussen is notoriously skewed for bush, always has been.
It's probably somewhere around 40 or 42 percent. Going to the funeral and being a jerk about Carter's invitation didn't help, I'm sure.

They should start doing approval surveys on Rove and Cheney, too. Maybe bush would get a clue.

Let the people see the results of voting republican:

What? Gas is $3.00 a gallon?
What? I just lost my job !
What? I lost my civil rights?
What? I'm getting drafted?

Of course, the really stupid diehards wil always blame it on the Clenis.

21. As I recall, the Reagan funeral
raised Bush's approval ratings. I'm sure Bush is disappointed that the Pope's funeral didn't do the same.

I don't watch TV, but from what I heard on DU the coverage was very favorable to Bush.

22. I watched brief moments of the Pope funeral coverage...
... and my impression is that John Paul II in death looked larger than ever, while Smirky looked positively tiny in comparison.

Maybe there was a reason why a sitting president had never attended a pope's funeral before. No matter how pious and aggrieved you might try to look, it is nearly impossible to upstage an important dead guy.

Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 12:36 PM by deadparrot
has him in the mid-to-low 40s (43-46%).

Unfortunately, it doesn't do us any good. If they enabled him by voting for him or not voting at all, they deserve what they get. I feel no sympathy for those who are feeling the squeeze now.

If you didn't do anything to stop him, there will be no more bleeding heart liberalism from me.

him once again.

He probably has a job approval of about 25 %

Let's remember folks, the lack of a paper trail and the Crooks with Rove GAVE HIM the election.

I will never believe that he won it fair and square --- never!

44. President Claims Secret Canonization During Last Pope Visit!!!!
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 03:32 PM by skip fox
He claims it occurred in a secret room behind the Pope's living quarters and that the Pope must have forgotten to tell people about it like he promised. "That musta been cause he was getting old and stuff and lots of nose hairs and stuff in his eyes," the President claimed.
