Kerry: Bush $2.6T Budget Plan Dishonest
---------------------------------------
Thursday March 17, 2005 1:31 PM
By LOLITA C. BALDOR
Associated Press Writer
---------------------------------------

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush's $2.6 trillion budget plan working its way through Congress is dishonest, irresponsible and violates the core values of average Americans, said Bush's former rival for the presidency, Sen. John Kerry.

``This budget is like an Enron budget: smoke the numbers, cook the books, hide the truth and hope no one finds out,'' Kerry, who was last year's Democratic presidential nominee, said in prepared remarks for a speech Thursday.

(snip)

Kerry, who worked unsuccessfully with other Democrats and at times some Republicans this week to defeat specific provisions in the budget proposal, said the debate ``should remind all Americans that Washington does not always work for them.''

``Honesty, opportunity and responsibility were all cut from this budget,'' Kerry said in his speech prepared for the Center for National Policy.

11. No wonder they hate Clinton
Looking at the chart it becomes clear that we are heading for a train wreck. If only Clinton was still in charge *sigh*. Someone remind me why we are allowing Never Elected to run this country into the ground.

4. Maybe Bush is just confused on what they mean by "Red States".
Since he's done his best to put all fifty states in the red.

They are not allowed to discuss Bush's dishonesty. And they are not allowed to let any Dem voices be heard unless they can spin it against them.

7. the more Kerry speaks out
the more I'm going to be interested in him running again.

I feel he lost because:

1. the machines are rigged and the system is rigged

2. he keeps repeating people's names in interviews

3. he's too defensive in interviews

4. he laid down and he esp. listed to his idiot advisors
and stopped talking about outsourcing and what to do about it

If he changes a few things and especially changes his style
in interviews plus becomes a bulldog and calls a spade a spade
we might get somewhere.

9. I agree!
No doubt John made some mistakes during his campaign, and he isn't perfect, but he really seems to have learned a lot. His speaking style, etc. have really evolved and become much more natural, IMO. John's shown a great deal of strength, and I'm very proud that he's a member of the U.S. Senate (even if I'm not from Massachusetts!)
