More than 100 have died in U.S. custody in Iraq, Afghan wars
http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/dsnews/174nd2.htm

WASHINGTON — At least 108 people have died in U.S. custody in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and roughly a quarter of the cases have been investigated as possible U.S. abuse, according to government data provided to The Associated Press.

The figure, far higher than any previously disclosed, includes cases investigated by the Army, Navy, Central Intelligence Agency and Justice Department. Some 65,000 prisoners have been taken during the U.S.-led wars, most later freed.

The Pentagon has never provided comprehensive information on how many prisoners taken during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have died. The 108 figure, based on information supplied by Army, Navy and other government officials, includes deaths attributed to natural causes.

To human rights groups, the deaths form a clear pattern.

3. Well, I feel better now... don't you feel better? I wonder if their wives
sons, daughters, cousins, uncles feel better now.... I hope they do and that they aren't considering purchasing some C-4 or some other sundry item.

4. We don't even know how many soldiers
have been killed there - "they" could not be expected to tell us who else has died.

5. What if they used a standard of proof in prosecuting these cases ....

... equal to the standard of proof used to initiate these invasions in the first place? How about equal to the standard used in imprisoning these people? What a morally bankrupt nation we've become! Appalling.
