Raw Story: Senators pressed to sign Durbin letter (on Gannon)
Democratic staffers are aggressively seeking senators to sign onto Sen. Richard Durbin’s (D-IL) letter to President Bush calling for an inquiry into Jeff Gannon before it is released to the press, RAW STORY has learned.

Senate aides, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said they expected the letter would be released to the mainstream press today. They said a flurry of activity was taking place as the Democratic leadership sought support from senators, many of whom are back in their home districts during this week’s congressional recess.

Sen. Durbin, as the Democratic whip, is in a unique position to solicit member support. As whip, he is responsible for ensuring the Democrats vote as a block on issues the leadership agrees mandates broad support from the caucus.

Only one senator has formally agreed to sign, Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), who has already called on President Bush to turn over all records relating to Gannon’s credentialing as a White House reporter.

“Senator Lautenberg will sign on,” Lautenberg’s spokesman Alex Formuzis said.

4. How is it "playing the middle" to refuse to investigate??????
This is what I don't get. Why is it a hot potato for "centrist" Dems (read as opportunistic DINOs) to sign on to investigate CLEAR EVIDENCE of media manipulation and pulling of strings by the Bush WH?

Is this the Bizarro plane of existence? What the fuck?

7. Tell me about it...
there is so much i don't understand, JB.

It is the Bizarro plane. There is something in the water... No media, and no politicians speaking up (well not more than 2 at the moment).

I never agreed with John Kerry or Hillary for giving the preisdent authority to go to war (and NO we don't have to go into that... i know he gave Bush THIS but not THAT... whatever. He never should have given him ANYTHING. And neither should Hillary.) And when i had to vote for him and not Dean it made me a bit ill, as much as i tried to rationalize. Why?

Because I compormised my values. Just like all of these people, media and politicians, are doing now.

Enough. I'm over it.

Right and Left are a lie that this administration fosters.

3. Better yet, PLEASE POST A LIST OF THE COWARD SENATORS
Coward Dem representatives should NOT be tolerated anymore. If any refuse to show some spine on CLEAR EVIDENCE OF WH SCANDAL, we should vote these pseudo-Dem, opportunists out of office. I want NAMES!

5. Well, as it stands right now,
the list would be identical to the list of ALL Dem Senators minus Durbin and Lautenberg.

9. And, the Dem leadership wants to know why things are going badly...
How the hell are we to recapture power when we don't even push on issues where the Repukes are fucking themselves? Jesus, it doesn't get any easier or less controversial to support THE RULE OF LAW.
