Will he run in `06? Schwarzenegger spurs guessing game
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/myrtlebeachonline/news/nation/10961103.htm

He's on top of the world, with a lofty approval rating and more daily attention than he commanded even as a movie star.

After only two years, could California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger walk away from his job? ...

"I have never felt that it was automatic," said Garry South, a Democratic consultant, who says that by now Schwarzenegger has realized what a thankless job he has taken on and must be tiring of it. "I wouldn't bet on it."

Coming from a onetime adviser to former Gov. Gray Davis, whom Schwarzenegger ousted in the 2003 recall, South's portrayal of Schwarzenegger as a dilettante could be dismissed as self-serving. But some Republicans also are wondering whether the governor might not run for a second term, simply because he has other things he could do.

2. Somewhat in line with this. . .
has anyone heard what success -- if any -- the California delegation Schwarzenegger led to Washington last week had with their "Collectinator" effort? Or was "Ahnuld" treated like the same amusing side-show puppet the Hill found him to be last time?

3. If he doesn't run, I'll watch Terminator 4
And that's saying A LOT!!

There is no way he won't run. He'll pretend like he's mulling it over and isn't sure, but he will definitely run, and unless something very dramatic happens (LIKE AL GORE MOVING TO CALIFORNIA AND RUNNING) he will win.

bleh!

5. Of course he will. Dude is hungry for power. He wants to be prez.
He has to consolidate his base in CA first to realize his ultimate ambition.

7. Sheila Kuehl (D) state senator (Zelda from Dobie Gillis) says...
Arnold will challenge Dianne Feinstein for her seat in the 2006 US senate race.

14. That would be a friggin' joke
Although he might have a chance of winning, he can't do a job where he's not "The Man". He knows nothing of compromise and I really don't think he's sharp enough for committee work. "My way or the highway" doesn't work in the senate.

8. I read another story where Arnold was whining that being Governor
was a tough job. Whatever. Maybe he'll run against Feinstein for a Senate seat in 2006. If so, he will get his head handed to him. I would love to see that, Arnold losing to a girl (his term, not mine).

9. He's running -- bet on it
Jeb Bush played the same kind of game a couple of years out. Both have worked with same media guru Mike Murphy.

13. yep...the whitewash is in...
...the media fawn all over this asshole :puke: and so to the casual observer (= most voters), the boobengrabber seems harmless enough.

To the attentive, however, it's a different story: it is trying to enact the same radical extremist economic and financial agenda that * is trying to foist on the nation: privatize pensions (state employees), destroy public schools, keep tax cuts and breaks for the wealthy and business while enacting policies that result in service cuts and fee increases (= tax raises) for the middle and working classes.

There have been some stories in the LA Times about how its approval ratings are falling, as more and more segments of CA society wake up to the extremist, unfair economic plans it is trying to enact. And, how various groups (teachers, nurses, etc.) are finding that it is a LIAR who breaks promises.

However, who knows whether the media as a whole will report accurately enough that the average ignoramus wakes up. :eyes: The electronic media in general (with the exception of the great Bernie Ward on KGO, plus AAR) won't, that's for sure.

11. How are his approval ratings so high when he is screwing so many?
nurses
teachers
college kids
etc.
etc.

I have a weird feeling that some of these poll numbers are inflated to make Arnold look inevitable.

15. A country that tolerates an idiot
of the magnitude of our current leader can obviously tolerate anything. From now on, there is no bottom. It's merely a matter of timely reframing, media purchasing power and savvy fraud.

16. I cannot imagine who in Calif likes this guy. I do know there are
howls of disgust coming from many of us here; the guy is such a dildo.

I've written my outrage to him; will do it again shortly. Like nails across a chalkboard, this punk disturbs me so. :puke:

He'll probably do the same trick again - wait until the day before the filing deadline.
