Rice: U.S., Europe Must Support Iraq with Security
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050208/pl_nm/rice_iraq_dc&cid=615&ncid=1480

"We in the trans-Atlantic partnership must rise to the challenge the Iraqi people have set for us," Rice said in a speech in Paris. "They have shown us extraordinary bravery and determination.

"We must support them as they form their political institutions. We must help them with economic reconstruction and development. And we must stay by their side to provide security until Iraqis themselves can take full ownership of that job."

France, which led international opposition to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, has refused to send forces there to help restore peace. But Paris has said it is ready to take part in the economic and political reconstruction of the oil-rich state.

"There is much more to do to create a democratic and unified Iraq -- and Iraqis themselves must lead the way," Rice added.

It's up to the US alone. We created this mess , we need to solve it. Hopefully Europe will have the common sense to to tell idiot boy and his administration to go cheny themselves.
