From Turkish Weekly--Latest News The Turks are obviously watching the Kurdish eelection VERY carefully. The problems begin.

Iraqi Kurds Voting Plot Revealed

A voting plot staged by Kurds in Kirkuk has been revealed. One week before the elections, 110,000 Kurds moved back to Kirkuk en masse to vote. Ankara received information that these Kurds were placed in the Azadi and Rahimova ghettoes of Kirkuk ready for voting in the election.

The number of voters in Azadi on January 24 was 31 thousand and in Rahimova, 22,000. Within 6 days, the number of registrants in Azadi had sky rocketed to 90,000 and in Rahimova the numbers reached 76,149.

Officials of the Iraqi Turkoman Front said that they will document this situation and appeal to the Iraqi High Election Board.

6. Finally.
But most people heard that 72% of Iraqi's voted in a free election. That's all that will stick with them. All of the irregularities and problems that are found out now, won't even register with most people.

7. A total mess
The Kurds are like all other political wedge minorities. We support them, so long as it suits us in gaining a political advantage over an adversary. When these people want to do something that doesn't fall in line with us, we get rid of them.

It is no secret that the Turkish government wants to get rid of the Kurds just like Saddam did. And in the end, we really don't care either.
