UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan will discipline the former director of the oil-for-food program for Iraq and another official named in a probe in the operation, his chief of staff said on Thursday.

There are only four (4) paragraphs. Since I didn't want to C&P the entire article, I only posted the first paragraph.

1. OK.................
that being done, when will bush etal. be disciplined for invading a sovereign country, torturing prisoners and holding people in detention (again subject to torture) for indeterminate periods of time without benefit of legal council? These are a FEW of the charges, but it's a start. When will we get started on this? When? WHEN?

3. That's something for another topic...
...as this one addresses the UN oil-for-food issue.

Getting back on topic, I think Kofi sidestepped his responsibility in the matter a bit. Looks like they found a fall guy.

4. This is such BS!
The oil for food program was a failure. It starved hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, just the program alone. They were given, by our government (and I'm sorry to say Clinton), $6.50 a day to eat on.
Even in their economy, that was way below poverty, they starved to death.

Bush is the one behind this whole charade. He wants to dismantle the UN so he won't have to be held accountable by them. It's also an evangelical thing...they believe the UN and UE are going to form one world order, one dollar, which is predicted in Revelations as being the time the anti-Christ comes and rules the earth.

I guess they think it's OK for Bush (US) to do it because he has been ordained by God.

They all make me sick, both Dems and Repukes. Corrupt, the lot of them.

8. they can believe what they want. but they shouldn't be in gov't.
any wacko religious sect of consenting adults can do what it wants, but shame on us for stopping to enjoy our lives and sleeping through their rise to enough power to where they can exterminate the earth's population over some 2000 year old grudge.
