Reuters: U.S. Soldier Killed During Anti-Guerrilla Raids (#1371)

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier was killed by guerrillas during raids on suspected insurgent hideouts in central Iraq Friday, the U.S. military said. Another soldier from the 1st Infantry Division was wounded in the raids near the town of Duluiya, about 60 miles north of Baghdad, the military said in a statement, adding that one suspected insurgent was killed.

Large-scale Resistance attack on US base in Diyala
Province reported.

A group of Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with rockets
infiltrated into an airport in Diyala Province at 5:50am
Thursday. The fighters destroyed three US Bradley
armored vehicles, an Abrams tank, and two Humvees and
killed 26 US troops, Mafkarat al-Islam reported. The capital
of Diyala Province is
Ba‘qubah.
