Iraq's insurgents deploy bombs and laundry powder
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/GEO743376.htm

BAGHDAD, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Dressed in stylish jeans and leather jackets, they looked like typical teenagers anywhere. But this is Iraq.

Hearing their cue on walkie talkies, they scattered, pulled out mortars from sugar sacks and fired towards a U.S. base. Bystanders just kept shopping on the busy Baghdad street, witnesses said.

As elections approach, insurgents are blending in with the civilian population while their comrades across the country focus on infiltrating Iraqi police and security forces.

Iraqi officials say guerrillas in a lethal alliance between foreign Muslim militants and Saddam Hussein loyalists with plenty of cash are getting more sophisticated and resourceful.

2. This isn't terrorism, this is resistance
Why can't we stop the insurgency by torturing a few innocent prisoners?

Simple. This is a resistance movement.

Ever action we take to become more cruel only fuels the insurgency. If we want out any time soon, and if we want to fix Iraq, we need a clear and public regime change, followed with some apology over our falsified morality and liberation we bring to Iraq, finished off with a genuine relief and reconstruction effort.

3. Not on the things you listed will ever happen.
The only way this will end is when it is officially declared that America has lost the "war" in Iraq. And we will lose because we don't have the man power or the money to keep it going as long as the insurgents do.

10. Picture a U.S. overrun by Iraqis
A U.S. with warehouses FULL of automatic weapons, explosives, grenades and launchers, mortars, etc.

What would WE be doing? Saying, hi Mr. Iraqi, can you give me a job for $3 a day?

4. Iraqi`s fighting to get the US invaders out are still called insurgents?
Freedom fighters really fits now. If they can blend in with the population like that so well. Insurgents is just a word to try and negate the fact that we the pre-emptive invaders are getting our fraudulently led asses kicked.

5. The press sure has been willing to run with that term
The 'foreigners and Saddam loyalists' quote is all over the place, but hasn't it already been established in arrests and body counts that the fighters are Iraqi?

Here it's attributed to multiple officials. That's very "on message".

7. "Insurgents are blending in with the civilian population..."
Who else are "insurgents" but the civilian population? I can't imagine that those actively resisting the occupation of their country are wearing special shirts with a big "I" on the back, either.

Is there some sort of media whore school these so-called reporters attend?

8. They have replaced torture with "abuse". Wounded was changed to "hurt"
It is kind of sick when you think about it.
