Sweden says No to euro
Edited on Sun Sep-14-03 02:49 PM by Newsjock
Update: BBC World cites FINAL figures from Swedish television: 56.5% no, 41.4% yes.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3108292.stm

Sweden has voted decisively to reject the euro in a referendum held days after the killing of Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.

Correspondents say the figures are unlikely to change much as the figures from the final districts come in.

5. That was because of a misleading headline
"Sweden Votes to Adopt Euro" headed the article which announced that today was the day for voting on the issue.
