'Godfather' Enters Georgia Senate Race
ATLANTA -- A black Republican businessman entered Georgia's crowded race for the Senate on Wednesday, promising a fresh approach from an outsider who has never held office.

Herman Cain grew up poor in Atlanta and became a millionaire reviving the Godfather's Pizza chain. His political connections are rich, too -- he counts Republicans Jack Kemp and Steve Forbes as friends.

snip.........

His top three priorities are tax reform, health care reform and setting up private investment accounts as an alternative to Social Security.

"We not only face terrorism as an evil. The income tax code is evil," said Cain, who favors a national sales tax.

3. I hope he doesn't have a chance
If his idea of tax reform is a national sales tax. Sales taxes in the US generally hit poor people much harder than rich people.

4. The Income Tax is evil?????????
Sounds like a stupid fool--cloak taxation in religious/moral tones. No wonder people in Georgia voted for Miller.

6. Just playing devil's advocate
What if food, clothes, etc. were exempt from the sales tax? Add any items to the list that the poor would disproportionately have to pay.
