Filipino Man Sues To Stay In U.S. Despite Transsexual Wife
LOS ANGELES -- A Filipino couple is suing the United States government, alleging the man was denied permanent U.S. residency because his wife is a transsexual.

Experts said it may be the first legal challenge of its kind.

Donita Ganzon was granted citizenship in 1987 -- six years after her sex change operation. She was given a certificate that listed her sex as female.

Her husband, Jiffy Javenella, applied for permanent resident status after the couple married in 2001.

The lawsuit alleges Javenella's application was turned down earlier this year -- within three weeks after Ganzon revealed she'd undergone a male-to-female sex change operation. Javenella now faces deportation.

A government memo cites the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as between a man and a woman, to support its position.

2. Thank you Bill Clinton for DOMA
and may your dick fall off in punishment for all the grief your immoral ass has brought to people whose only crime is that they live in committed non-hetero relationships.

Hypocrite!

3. as someone who is seriously looking into changing my sex, I find
this extremely depressing. She is no longer a man, she is a woman, she is a citizen, she is married to a man who is foreign but would be granted citizenship if she hadnt of had the misfortune of being born a boy.

Its like they just go "ew a fag"... and never think about what it takes to Transgender. Its not like getting a facelift and taking some pills!! Never mind having to live your life with a piece of meat between your legs that makes you feel awkward at best, and downright wrong in worse times.

depressing.....

4. Wow... Just wow...
You know, I remember growing up reading about the medieval ages. How the church ran everything and people went along with it. I used to wonder why they did it? How could they be so stupid? I sure was glad that those days were over and we were living in an age of reason... my bad.

5. Reason and religion are mutually exclusive
and don't be surprised if we end up burning witches at the stake and forcing homosexuals to wear a pink triangle, or a pink Star of David.
