Several Die in Iraq violence as Blast Rocks Baghdad (Sun.)

BAGHDAD (Iraq): A loud blast rocked central Baghdad early on Saturday and a large plume of gray smoke could be seen rising from the area near the Ministry of Health.

The explosion occurred at 7:55 am <04:55 GMT> and comes a day after a suicide car bomb and clashes in the capital killed at least five people, including an Iraqi policeman. Nine more Iraqis died in other attacks across the shattered country.

Meanwhile, a group of insurgents attacked a police station Saturday in northwestern Baghdad with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire, witnesses said.

Clashes broke out around dawn in the Azamiyah neighborhood, and three U.S. armored vehicles were seen in flames, witnesses said. The U.S. military had no immediate comment on the incidents.

how extremely worse things have become in Iraq since the fake handover. I have a feeling if there really are fake elections held the whole place will blow! Sad for all parties. Bring the troops home... :(

Shrub is cranking up the pressure on the generals to settle the place down and he's too stupid to see that the heavy-handedness is exacerbating the situation.
We do need to get the troops out until we provide a real commander-in-chief. It's gotten that out of hand now, I fear.
