this is a short piece, but it just goes to show that there's one set of laws for the rich and famous, and one for the rest of us...i wonder what the payoff for this 'friend' was????

Prosecutors dropped a marijuana possession charge against Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony on Wednesday, saying it would be tough to get a conviction after a friend claimed the drug was his, not Anthony's.

Anthony was charged with possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana on Oct. 15 after a bag with the drug was found in his backpack as the team waited to board a flight to Milwaukee for a preseason game.

getting away with murder...just another reason why i have no respect for the NBA anymore

3. Possession is often tough to prove.

I don't see the point of prosecution.
