9. God that shit pisses me off!
When I first learned about the Bohemian Grove I thought, you have GOT to be kidding me! Grown ass men (in extremely powerful positions I might add) acting like fucking second graders in a treehouse club. Oh, and of course no boys club is complete without sexist piggery. Naturally, they bring in pretty young girls to wait on them.

99. We are still in old boys' century. Haven't you ever worked for an old boy from the network before?
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 07:26 AM by wordpix
They're all over the place. You might not have noticed, if you're a man, Bob, but this old boys' network is alive and well. Their rules are their rules and if they want to keep women out (except for prostitutes), that's what they do---on the job, at a club or wherever.

The sound quality is very poor but it sounds like he is saying,

"But it's not just the ratty part of town. The upper class in San Francisco is that way. The Bohemian Grove, which I attend from time to time . . . It is the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine with that San Francisco crowd. I can't shake hands with anybody from San Francisco."

66. That shows how well conditioning works.
Bohemian Grove is a real place with real events that have occurred annually for decades yet when the general public hears about it their first thought is of a recent, mass market work of cinematic fiction.

Many who hear details of Grove affairs will think one is exaggerating or confusing it with the movie.

26. Robert Haas. Levi chairman...
Robert D. Haas is the Chairman of Levi Strauss & Co., son of Walter Haas Jr., and the great-great-grandnephew of the company's founder, Levi Strauss.

Robert Haas received a BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1964, and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1968. Haas served in the Peace Corps from 1964 to 1966. He was a White House Fellow from 1968 to 1969. After business school, Haas worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company from 1969 to 1972.

He is a member of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, is an Honorary Trustee of the Brookings Institution, and is the president of the Levi Strauss Foundation.

In 1984 Robert Douglas Haas began a great experiment in corporate governance by expanding on the ethical traditions of Levi Strauss & Company. During the Great Depression of the 1930s, Walter Haas Sr. risking bankruptcy, refused to lay off idled employees. Instead he created work projects such as laying wooden floors in the company's factory in San Francisco. Walter Haas Jr. insisted on running integrated factories in the American South, giving equal treatment to all races during the era of segregation. During his tenure as leader at Levi Strauss, Robert Haas mandated ethical principles. He tried to create a corporate culture in which tens of thousands of employees around the world were treated fairly and well.

Your lives, how much money you will make, where you will be able to live, and how much 'freedom' you deserve.

The deals are made at these enclaves.

The 'elites' do not let elections bother them.

This is where the future of our country is decided.

And YOU are NOT INVITED.

55. Peter Holt...
Business and the Spurs
Holt believes a values-based management philosophy, in which the community gains benefits from association with a company that is committed to proper business ethics. A company's responsibility leads to the company supporting community projects, leading to mutual benefit for the community and company. These values were one of the primary factors in Holt's 1993 decision to invest in the Spurs. His desire was to keep the team in San Antonio to help the community and vice-versa. He and his wife Julianna Hawn Holt are now the franchises principal owners.

In the last several years, Holt has seen his "community project" succeed in extraordinary ways. In June 1999, Holt joined with hundreds of thousands of Spurs faithful in celebrating the teams first NBA Championship. In order to keep the team in San Antonio, Holt led a successful effort to secure community support to build a new community arena, the AT&T Center. The new home to the Spurs and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition broke ground in August 2000 and opened with the 2002 season. Holt's Spurs secured three more championships in 2003, 2005, and 2007. He is one of the few owners in the league that has gone over the luxury tax threshold to secure needed talent.

With a long commitment to community service, Holt served as Chairman of the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. He is a member of the World Presidents Organization, and is a trustee of the Palmer Drug Abuse Program. Governor Rick Perry appointed Holt as a commissioner of the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife. A strong supporter of international trade, Holt is a board member of Free Trade Alliance-San Antonio, as well as the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation. He also served as Chairman of the Board of St. Marys Hall, a private school in San Antonio, and is on the corporate board of Chase Bank-San Antonio.

Holt plans on staying in San Antonio, and active in the Caterpillar business, looking forward to the possibility of welcoming his children into the family business.

Peter Holt was inducted to the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2004 and information in this article was obtained from a short biography listed on their website <1>.

74. I almost fainted when I saw Peter Rowe on the list,
the writer for the San Diego Union-Tribune, who goes to the same church my Mom goes to, and who I have met a few times. But now I don't think it's the same Peter Rowe, I think the one on the list is some doctor.

75. John McCain rumored to attend July 11-27, 2008 Bohemian Grove
John McCain attending July 11-27, 2008 Bohemian Grove?

http://www.freepressinternational.com/2008/07/john-mcca...

SACRAMENTO NEWS

Dateline, Monte Rio, Calif. The dark woods on the outskirts of this run-down Russian River resort town are silent now, save the occasional rustle of wind through the towering redwoods. In two weeks, however, the thick moss-laden trunks of the Bohemian Grove will reverberate with the sounds of drag queens making merry, mock human sacrifices and the tinkling hiss of piss on trees.

Such events are unremarkable in themselvesone may witness similar scenes, minus the redwoods, in the alley behind SN&R any night of the week. But these are no mere ordinary mortals prancing about the forest, drinking themselves blind, urinating and defecating at will.

These are the Masters of the Universe.

Truth be told, roughly 90 percent of the 2,000 or so men in attendance at the annual gathering at the groveand they are all men, with the exception of a few maids and the occasional female prostituteare nothing more than well-to-do Californians. Folks like McClatchy Company board of directors member William K. Coblentz and Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. The 136-year-old San Francisco-based Bohemian Club, which of all things began as a gathering of like-minded, underpaid journalists, has essentially morphed into an old-boys network.

Of course, joining Coblentz and Hart in the Hillbillies Camp are luminaries such as former president George H.W. Bush and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Past attendees at the Grove have included former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, H-Bomb father Edward Teller; the late, closeted multibillionaire Malcolm Forbes, Vice President Dick Cheney and every Republican president up to and including George W. Bush. Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain is rumored to be attending this years gathering, which takes place July 11-27.

...........

Weird!!!

80. Oh my god, this is hilarious!
The upper class in San Francisco is that way , Nixon insisted. The Bohemian Grove, which I attend from time to timeit is the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine, with that San Francisco crowd. I cant shake hands with anybody from San Francisco.

In 2004, we learned from the vaunted New York Post that gay porn star Chad Savage (How the West Was Hung) was working at the Grove as a valet. When questioned by the Post, a Grove spokesman said, All that matters is that the valets do good service. Thats really all that matters.

I bet Larry Craig is sooooo pissed he didn't get invited this year.
