Warren County, Ohio is doing a recount today!!!!!!!
Warren County BoE will be counting provisional ballots, absentee ballots and recounting all ballots today and it is open to the public!! This is the county that shut out the press on election day becdause of a stage 10 security threat that the FBI later denied. They were one of the last counties to give their numbers that secured Ohio for Bush. If anyone wants to go they will be starting at 9:00 and expected to go until 3-4. The BoE is on Justice Drive in Lebanon. This is a huge victory for us guys! Thanks to everyone that called the Commissioners and BoE for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I don't have a link because I was just called on our
Democratric phone list. Our Dem party chair started the call and lots of people are heading down. I, unfortunatley, won't be there because we were told that we can't disrupt and I have my little kids with me today. But they all have my cell phone and promised to call if anything exciting happens! I bet it will be in the Cincy Enquirer today- if anyone sees it please link. Please head down if you can. They were all saying that no one thought they had done anything wrong, so to see a bunch of people watching the recount would send a great message!

3. That is great news, lizzieforkerry.
I hope they didn't do too much sanitizing when they counted behind closed doors. :fingerscrossed: that this turns out positively for the good guys.

5. Yes, I agree
We are all wondering if they will match voters names with ballot numbers and cross check absentee ballots with precinct voters. I will let you know if I hear. We think they either added more ballots for Bush or people double voted.

10. I agree -Negative Karma or comments have to go.
Positive thinking only.

One comment I would like to make is regarding the lie about the security level "10". Why were the polling stations not secured also, if in fact there was an imminent threat? It was a lie and someone must pay dearly for that.

Also, thanks to you lizzieforkerry for posting this news.

Kerry on.

13. Exactly
There was two elementary schools within 300 yards of the BoE that were in session, the parents were not warned and the Board of Education was not told of the "threat". Two precincts voted here! They lied and now they either have to fess up or they have to answer to not keeping their citizens safe. I don't know which is worse. What is the color system for if they don't use it when we have a stage 10 threat?!

12. Exit polls:24% of Ohio Bush voters said Economy/Job most important
According to CNN, the exit polls found that 24% of those Ohioans who voted for Bush said that Economy/Jobs was the most important issue. Doesn't that seem odd? Why would they vote for Bush given the job losses and economic issues in Ohio under Bush?

16. I agree that the count most likely
won't change, the damage has been done. But I do consider it a victory that they are recounting in front of the public. They thought they could do what they did and no one would care or notice, but we did and now they are paying for it. We have spent a lot of time calling and writing them and considering we are a small minority here they are surprised by our collective voice. Four years ago, this wouldn't have even been noticed. But this time we are organized and we are united (which is why I don't believe our percentage stayed the same as 2000) and we were able to make them answer to us. This is the victory I am celebrating today. I will mourn the the big FU to democracy that they staged election night again tomorrow. Thanks again to all of you who called and helped!!!

26. I don't know about in Ohio,
but in my county, yes they are. Every ballot has a unique number. It is possible to track every single ballot, because the county knows what numbers of ballots were delivered to the polls. The election judge signs each ballot that is used and records the number ranges. Every destroyed ballot (if voter makes a mistake and wants a second try) is accounted for. All unused ballots are returned to the county.

Now, if you have a POS electronic machine, then WTF do they do about all of this security / paper trail? Hell if I know.

18. Update
Edited on Mon Nov-15-04 10:19 AM by lizzieforkerry
Some people at the BoE are saying they will not be counting the paper ballots and some are saying they will. They are definitely counting the provisional, 1500, and absentee. Still they are doing it in front of the public and the Cin Enq. will be there. I don't know about the provisional that were discarded- still looking into that.

20. hmmm...
i think i would tend to agree with the more cynical on here... why did they lock down if they weren't destroying evidence that could hurt them later? i'm afraid the damage has already been done there. but hopefully not, could blow the doors wide open!

21. hard to destroy a ballot without someone noticing it is gone...
...since most ballots have some kind of serial number you cant just replace them with a doctored one. Is this a paperless electronic voting area?

22. This has nothing to do with the GLIB recount, right?
Also, don't they have rolls showing how many people voted? Won't it be considered quite odd (and perhaps EASY to tell?) if there are less ballots than people voted? In a perfect world, anyhow...

30. I NY they found that the voting machine totals has been incorretly reporte
Also when they did a hand recount if the machine read ballots, a 1674 vote lead for the Rethug turned into a 253 vote lead for the Democratic state senator.

The RThugs have been rigging elections far far longer than we have had e-voting.

27. Late in the Warren night, Kerry had a big plunge in his vote percentage
Kerry's vote percentage in Warren County dropped more than 5% after 11 pm EST. That seems to be during the time the Warren elections officials had their offices locked down and wouldn't even let members of the press enter.

The statement above is based on official election totals from the Ohio secretary of state's web site that I periodically downloaded on Election Night.

The recount results ought be interesting.

there any investigations or inquiries as to who made that call impersonating a Homeland Security officer or an FBI agent to that precinct? It ticks me off! Surely, they would inquire this? It may even lead to a whistleblower who could implicate the higher up Repuketards and (possibly) the WH, or at least KKKarl Rove.

Edited for Freeptardian-type spelling.

.......but remember, these people are evil not stupid.

Just a hunch but I suspect a little 'misdirection' might be in play here to give cover to other less obvious exploits elsewhere in the state.

Pay close attention to the rest of Ohio, it would seem they want you focused here. :)

45. Sorry for the long delay.
Apparently some BOE people said they were going to recount all of the ballots along with the provisional and absentee but then they decided since the GLIB recount was most likely going to happen that they would hand recount then? The person I talked to couldn't stay the whole time and so I don't know if this is the whole story, or just a rumor. Sorry, I know this is frustrating and I guess I should have waited until tonight to post this- Hopefully I will be able to talk to a couple of other people who were there in the morning to get the full scoop. I know there will be an article in the Cin Enq about it. Again I think a real victory here in that they allowed the public to come in, I think due to all of the pressure we have put on them. I kind of agree with you all that the damage has been done or that it was staged to pull attention away. If it weren't for those pesky exit polls....
