It's really easy to lose faith when the chips are down and we receive next to no news from the top Dems. Nevertheless, in his post-election streaming video he promised that every vote would be counted and I take him at his word. The Righties love to say that they take Dubya at his word all the time, even though he's a pathological liar. Kerry means what he says and does what he means. He IS involved in Ohio and I maintain that he has been quiet in order to avoid Gore's mistakes of 2000.

Have I been down in the dumps since 11/3? At times, sure! However, NOT ONCE have I lost faith that Kerry's concession was anything other than strategic. We haven't seen the last of 2004 nominee Kerry!

This is probably meaningless to some here, but I'm a life-long Red Sox fan who's team was down 0-3 to someone that we hardly ever beat in the post-season- the Yankees. I was pissed, I was hurt, but I still believed. And as we got ready to play game 4, I turned to my husband and said, "Am I crazy that I still think we can win this thing?". To which he said, "Yes."

4 games later and the Red Sox did what what no team has ever done in all of baseball, they beat the Yankees and became the only team outside a hockey to win the series. 4 more games later and the team did what they hadn't done in 86 years, win a World Series.

However, rats get desperate when backed into a corner and Karl Rove is the biggest rat of them all. He has to know that recounts in New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida will change the vote totals. Is he hoping to create an impression among Freepers that the election was stolen by Kerry or the "liberal" press in order to help Bush save face and save his own sorry political career?

There are very few ways he can stop the recount.Does he have plans to firebomb the sites where ballots are stored and blame it on al Qaeda? Even the ostrich press would ask questions about that one. Or maybe invade Iran? Wont stop the recountrs. If he tries to go to court to suppress the recounts, this in itself will be newsworthy.
The only way Rove can keep the vote from being counted is to substitute doctored paper ballots for the real ones, and that would be verrrrry risky (way too many people involved).

Logic tells me that Rove expected the election to be closer than it was. If exit polls had shown a close split then a Bush win would not have attracted any public notice. The fact that Kerry was gaining ground in Ohio is probably what prompted him to tell Blackwell to try to block exit polls in Ohio. When that didnt work he concocted the surreal theater event with the Bush clan and national TV election night. When that didnt work, he began trying to cover his tracks and give W. "plausible deniability."

Every taxpayer in the country would pay in $25 per year into a fund which would provide $5 billion dollars which should cover the cost of the candidates preparing resumes, issues statements and cover media costs (provided by TV, newspapers at cost) THERE WOULD BE NO CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS ALLOWED BY ANYONE OR ANY COMPANY TO ANY POLITICIAN
I believe elections should be a national holiday and held on Friday

First, why I think something's up behind the scenes that we don't know about: There are all the obvious things that everyone has already talked about, the suspiciously early, easy, and gracious concession, the "silence of the Dems." Why aren't the party folks screaming about the obvious massive fraud, intimidation, and disenfranchisement? Because they know something more effective than screaming is going on.

In particular, why aren't our loud and sometimes loose cannons roaring? The intimidation and disenfranchisement were, as always, concentrated in poor and black areas, but Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are mum. Could you ever imagine that? Congresspeople whom you can always count on to make waves, such as Henry Waxman, Charles Rangel, Maxine Waters, and others are silent and not making waves. Do you think they know something we don't? You could argue that they're in shock, but not for two weeks, and I never knew of shock to keep those folks silent.

I hear no recriminations among the party wheels about how Kerry campaigned or such. Even less than during the campaign. Dems are too fractious a bunch for that to happen. After a loosing campaign, there are always recriminations. This is the dog that didn't bark.

Our thousands of lawyers wanted to file hundreds of lawsuits on election day, but Kerry said no. Kerry, the tenacious prosecutor. Kerry, who fought on in the Iowa caucuses. Kerry, who helped found VVAW. But now, a week later, he sends hundreds of lawyers back to Ohio, "to make sure every vote is counted" and "to ensure the legitimacy of the election." That doesn't make any sense at all. It's got to be a diversionary tactic, to lull the pukes into a false sense of security and distract attention from where the real thing's going to be.

Finally, they have to realize (don't they?) that going down without a fight in the face of such obvious and massive fraud would cripple the party for years or even decades. Forget 2006 and 2008. People who stood in line for six hours to vote won't do that again if they don't fight to count those votes. People who poured out energy, time, commitment, and money like never before won't do that again, if all their efforts go down the drain without even a fight. People who say they don't vote because it doesn't matter will be proven right. We won't be able to tell Nader voters that they're throwing away their vote, because Nader's votes were counted and ours weren't--we're the ones who threw away our vote, if they won't fight to count our votes. Surely they have to realize this.

So here's my theory (probably my tin foil hat theory, if I understand that expression correctly):

Max Cleland is a friend of Kerry's. Max Cleland was robbed of a Senate seat by BBV, and anybody who's paying attention knows it. Several other elections were all stolen in apparent dry runs for this one. Kerry and everyone else in the campaign had to know about that. But no one ever said a word during the campaign about it. Compare that to the massive attention to intimidation and disenfranchisement and the thousands of lawyers deployed to prevent it, and the somewhat inhibitory effect that had on some of the worst abuses. But as for BBV, the message was, "Welcome, Pukes. Come in and make yourselves comfortable. Have a cup of tea and be as brazenly audacious as you wish in your vote-stealing. You can go all-out with impunity. No one here will say a word. Not, that is, until we spring this nice little ambush that we have set for you."

Here in California, we just got a multi-million dollar settlement from Diebold over their illegal dealings with touch-screen systems. How? A Diebold technician turned whistleblower. Oh, and he gets a percentage of the settlement too. Does anyone seriously think that we didn't at least try to place some mole technicians in Diebold and also that no lone-ranger moles tried to get in and also that nobody in the company wants a share of the next whistleblower percentage?

I think the Kerry campaign probably had copies of this year's equivalents of rob-georgia.zip about as soon as they were in Diebold technicians' hands. By election day, they'd decompiled or reverse engineered whatever was in them (if it even took that much geek work) and knew exactly how many votes were being stolen where and how. When things turned weird on election day, it was exactly according to plan and exactly as expected.

So, you ask, why haven't they come out with it? What are they waiting for? Remember Kerry the prosecutor? He didn't make his name going after small-time one-off thugs. He drove the whole mob out of his county. There are bigger fish here than some Diebold programmers. There's even bigger game than a stolen presidential election.

With something like a rob-ohio.zip and rob-florida.zip file in hand as evidence and a couple friendly, honest FBI agents or local prosecutors, they could get wiretaps, email taps, FTP taps, and whatever else. With the Dems apparently slinking off into the silence to lick their wounds, the biggies might well be carelessly congratulating themselves on their splendid coup, on tapped lines. Imagine Diebold's CEO being thanked by, oh say, Karl. And one tap's results could lead to another, and then another. Oh my, where might it all lead? Maybe to the whole "Soprano family values" crowd.

But there's still other big game out there to be taken down. The downstream media (hey, they stopped being mainstream a long time ago, they're downstream now) never dealt seriously with BBV problems; they completely ignored all the evidence that BBV was a disaster in the making and had actually already been used to steal elections. They treated the Swift Boat Liars thing as a he said-she said thing that no one could possibly investigate or verify or know the truth, and they acted as though people who weren't there could know as well as people who were there what happened. The downstream puke media (DPM) were completely in the RNC's pocket and completely AWOL from any real journalism, and have been for years.

So, to take down the DPM by embarassing and humiliating them for their complete and utter failures also required waiting to let them do it to themselves. We had to wait while evidence mounted and they ignored it, while the blogosphere fulminated and they unanimously (except Olberman) declared it to be looney internet conspiracies, while they unanimously said all this smoke doesn't mean there's fire, why there really isn't even any smoke, my dears. Just be calm and trust us.

So, when do we see something? Well, it has to be before the electoral college votes. Practically, it has to be before results are certified, particularly if Senate races were stolen too, as seems likely. I'm thinking probably this coming week, because the following week is Thanksgiving and real news will die for most of the week, and the week after that is tight on deadlines for vote certifications. I'm also thinking either Monday or Friday: Monday so the DPM anchors have to wipe egg off their faces all week, or Friday to set up the Sunday morning talking heads shows. Of course, if the FBI or wiretaps are involved, it might all depend on whether new big fish are calling up to volunteer to go to the big house.

On the other hand, this might all be my wishful thinking fantasy, in which case refer back to the paragraph that begins, "Finally, they have to realize (don't they?)" and start applying for immigration to Canada.

...I am prepared to face the truth if there is no challenge. However, I honestly believe the campaign will not give up without determining whether there was any way to overturn Ohio or Florida.

However, if I were Kerry, one lesson learned from last election's debacle is that you don't want the media covering this as it goes along; it turns into a circus that is judged every night by those who watch the media. Gore couldn't produce convincing evidence right away, so the courts ruled against what he had. Kerry will not present his case until (unless?) he can produce convincing evidence that will stand up in court.

What is it that is over? I don't spend any time on imagining Kerry in the WH, although I wouldn't rule it out. However, the idea that this is over seems hightly overly-optimistic to me. If the election theft is not stopped, things don't just bounce back magically to the way they were before the election. They stole this election for a reason - to steal the government, and they stole the government for a reason - they plan to use it for a very radical agenda, and that radical agenda will make everyone wish they had fought harder on the election theft.

People can run and hide from confronting this, but the next things they do will not be so easy to escape.

If they get away with stealing this election, things are far, far from over, they are just beginning. I think it is self-delusion to think that we can walk away from this and try again in 2008. This may be the last easy place to stop them. The election theft is just one step in a long series of steps, and it is the step they are most vulnerable on. It will now get worse, and it will be harder to stop them, and it won't go away.

How people think we can vote them out in 2008 and we couldn't this time is just beyond me. It will be much, much harder to stop them then.

If people are anxious for this phase to be over, and are ready to happily move on, then they haven't taken a very good look at this adminstration's grand strategy.

I am one of those people who protested and fought against the Vietnam Police Action and for the right to vote for 18 year olds, so I am an old fart and I am new here also. I am very proud of the work and the fight that so many in here are willing to do to try and get the information out to the people about the horrendous vote fraud that has been perpetrated on the populace of this country. I know they did it back in 2000 but that was a trial for them, so to speak. They found out that the populace of this country will sit and do nothing as their freedoms and voting power are taken away from them. They did even more fraud in 2002. And 2004 was the last nail in the coffin. The people are not willing to protest enough to get the information out to others who don't know about this. Please understand that the majority of the population in this country gets all of their so called news from the television, so if it isn't there for them to see, whether a lie or the truth, then they have no idea. Hell, our own President has stated that he does not read the newspapers, so you all must realize that the general population surely doesn't.

My goodness, I have seen the dumbing down of our country right before my very eyes. The average college entrant knows far less than college entrants of 50 years ago. I am sorry if this bothers any of you but facts are facts. The average person out there- does very little reading and believes anything and everything that is handed to them by the news media. This goes for people of all political persuasions. The average people out there are happy as long as they have jobs and food in their bellies. This is the same as 1930s Germany people. We are in big trouble and I don't like the future that is there for us. These type of "elections" are all there will be in the future and most people will sit around and believe when the news media tells them that only mentally unstable people would believe that there was any fraud. You must have noticed how the Republicans has set up everything to make it almost impossible for us to get anyone to even listen to what we have to say. Even Democrats sound just like the damn Republicans anymore and that is what scares me.

I am ever so grateful to the Greens for doing the vote count in Ohio. I will never vote for a Democrat or a Republican anymore, if I ever vote again. The fact that the Democrats weren't even willing to have a recount shows that they also do not care about this country or the people in it. I am sorry to say people that it will probably take nothing less than a overall revolution to try and regain our wonderful country. We no longer have a Constitution that anyone cares for, as evidenced by the idiots who wish to have an amendment to allow foreign born naturalized citizens to run for President or the idiotic amendment about marriage being between a man and a woman. ...and maybe slightly beyond. Okay I'm an optimist, but things didn't really start to "happen" until about November 11 (only a week ago!!) The first week after the election, we were all still reeling, and regrouping our energies. In the last week however, a lot of recounts are going on, or are being requested. Nader, the Green Party, and People for the American Way, etc. have all joined on. BBV had a stellar week with that discovery of "trashed" tapes in Florida, 81% of provisional ballots in Ohio have been okayed, and even while we're not YET getting the TV coverage we deserve, we DO have Keith and Countdown, and a lot of on-line and AP news stories flowing.

AND most importantly...Kerry gave a local TV interview two days ago (on the Boston channel), in which...when asked about 2008 and about his loss in this election, Kerry ABRUPTLY replied, 'Listen, they're still counting votes.' He also said the he WASN'T 'closing any doors' OR 'opening any' YET.

While that may have been exactly the kind of vague Kerry comment which drove others crazy during the campaign, it 'spoke' to me as the Kerry I supported and believed in before the election, and continue to do so now. Besides, we also now know he still has considerable 'campaign money' left...which I assume would be convenient in any Voter Fraud litigation.

How Kerry will be inaugurated on Jan. 20?

Florida has already certified. That state is done. Kerry's only "chance" is Ohio. But how will Kerry make up the 133,000 vote deficit in Ohio?

Here are the facts:

1. Provisional ballots - There are 155,000 prov. ballots. We're already reading reports that 10%-40% of these ballots are being thrown out, depending on the county. You have to assume at least 20% of these will be thrown out, taking that 155,000 down to 125,000. And these ballots are spread pretty evenly throughout the state (meaning, the prov. ballots are roughly equal to 1%-2% of the total vote per county).

2. Spoiled ballots - There are 92,000 "spoiled" ballots, meaning there is no clear vote for President. These are the infamous punch-card ballots. These will be counted only during the recount, which will happen AFTER the vote is certified by Ohio on Dec. 6. Contrary to Florida, Ohio has very strict standards for what counts as a vote with these ballots. The "chad" must be separated (perforated?)in 2 places for it to count. 1 chad or "dimples" will not count. Based on these rules, you have to assume at least 10% of these will be thrown out, taking that 92,000 down to 83,000.

125,000 + 83,000 = 208,000
Bush margin = 133,000 (136,000 minus the 3,000 mistake votes he got in that one county)

By my math, Kerry needs to take 82.2% of these prov. and spoiled ballots to win (171,000 to 37,000 = 134,000 plus for Kerry), assuming even the recount is finished before Dec. 13.

How in the hell is Kerry gonna take 82% of these, when these votes are spread throughout the state, a state that basically went 50-50?

At this point, I have no idea if Ohio or Florida will turn. But despite the disappointment of others and the quiet media, I am convinced that Kerry is working very quietly to win this election... still.

He may not know if he has anything, and if nothing ever comes up a quick concession was the right thing for the country. I would not expect him to say another thing about the election. Unless..... he can build an airtight case that no Bushista can argue with; a case so compelling there is no denying it.

Don't worry about whether it will happen or not. Just know that John Kerry has reported for duty, a duty he takes very seriously. I am convinced he is still working to become president this January.

I hope that gives you some confidence. It seems like a long shot, but out of all the potential tickets that could have been in this situation, Kerry, the prosecutor, the guy who busted BCCI, and Edwards, the trial lawyer, are the very two best men that could bring this home.
