Blackwell crimes in 2004 pres. race already an issue for 2006 gov. race...

Eye on the governor's office
Opponents want to pin presidential election controversy on Blackwell

By JAMES DREW
BLADE COLUMBUS BUREAU CHIEF

COLUMBUS — Democrat Wesley Thompson said he will never forget what Republican Ken Blackwell did this year.

Instead of serving as Ohio’s chief elections officer, Mr. Blackwell was a “political operative” for President Bush’s re-election campaign, charged Mr. Thompson, who lives in the Columbus suburb of Westerville.

So as Mr. Blackwell, who is in his second term as secretary of state, seeks the GOP nomination for governor in 2006, Mr. Thompson and others say they will speak out. And if Mr. Blackwell wins the GOP primary, Mr. Thompson said he and like-minded people will work for his Democratic opponent to defeat him.

“I’ve never seen anyone less qualified for public office,” said Mr. Thompson...

1. The news I hear from my contact in the State GOP
is that no one wants Blackwell....

They also don't want a divisive primary between Blackwell, Petro and Montgomery....

They really feel that would lead to a democratic victory in nov 2006...

Now, the challenge the dem's have is coming up with someone who can win...

Eric Fingerhyt,,,, Nice guy, big loser....

Lee Fisher,,,,, Two time statewide loser, he is toast....

Mayor of Columbis, Michael Coleman, ran statewide and established relationships,,,, unknown outside of central Ohio....

Jerry Springer, seriously considering a run. He is traveling the state and sowing support..... Trouble is can he win if the GOP energizes the right wing that came out to vote against Gay Marriage...

Dark Horse candidates,
Dennis Eckart
Sherrod Brown, won't give up a safe House Seat
Jane Campbell, if she wins reelection as mayor of Cleveland
Ted Strickland,,,,,,,,,,

4. Well, unless we keep up the energy and get the
fraud uncovered and repaired, Blackwell by the same method that Bush won......That's why this is so important, it will be neverending.

6. We need some standards. Springer violates those
I really don't think Springer is good for the party. I know he harbors nice liberal ideas, etc... But that show is such trash, it undermines his credibility. I don't think Democrats should support him.
