The woman is a pathological liar. She. Just. Never. Stops. Lying.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/01/us/politics/01campaig...

"While campaigning in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Clinton was also conducting satellite interviews with television stations in North Carolina, Montana and Indiana, which vote after Pennsylvania, and she tried to turn recent calls for her concession by Obama supporters into a motivating force for voters.

I didnt understand why Senator Obama and some of his supporters wanted to prevent you and other states from actually being able to vote, she told a television station in Wilmington, N.C. (Mr. Obama has said that she should stay in the race.)
"

This is one of her favorite tactics...telling a crowd that Obama said, or did, something to them that he never said or did, then telling them she will stand up for them. And, she does it with that indignant, bug-eyed look of hers. It has honestly become fascinating, to watch this woman lie repeatedly, daily, hourly, with absolutely no hint of embarrassment or shame. It's absolutely stunning.

138. I can debunk them for you...
It's quite simple. The exact words of that sermon he had not heard. He wasn't there. I think the honest disagreement may be which part of it do we think is "repulsive?". The Goddamn American part is, I assume what most people say, although MANY ultra-right people have said basically the same thing (eg this country is going to hell). If you think that the part he hadn't heard was black anger against America, well quite possibly he had heard that, as one can hear that in MANY churches (and indeed in many black barbershops, salons, and college classrooms).

I think the bigger issue is why he didn't stand up and defend his pastor, who himself was 95% accurate (and the AIDs thing is ultimately unprovable of course).

If someone wanted to criticize Obama for not just standing up for his pastor and saying, "look -- racism has set back blacks in this country 100s of years, and does to this day via white flight, etc." I would have liked that.

99. come on now
On Wright
"Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes," he said in his speech yesterday in Philadelphia."

"His initial reaction to the initial ABC News broadcast of Rev. Wright's sermons denouncing the U.S. was that he had never heard his pastor of 20 years make any comments that were anti-U.S. until the tape was played on air."

Where is the lie on this

now for Rezko

"Obama offered a lengthy and, to us, plausible explanation for the presence of now-indicted businessman Tony Rezko in his personal and political lives.

The most remarkable facet of Obama's 92-minute discussion was that, at the outset, he pledged to answer every question the three dozen Tribune journalists crammed into the room would put to him. And he did."

Snip//

"Less protection, less control, would have meant less hassle for his campaign. That said, Barack Obama now has spoken about his ties to Tony Rezko in uncommon detail. That's a standard for candor by which other presidential candidates facing serious inquiries now can be judged."

State Senate files
Summary: The Associated Press reported that Sen. Barack Obama "says he can't step up and produce his own records from his days in the Illinois state Senate. He says he hasn't got any." But Obama did not claim that the documents do not exist. In fact, the article quoted Obama saying: "I don't have -- I don't maintain -- a file of eight years of work in the state Senate because I didn't have the resources available to maintain those kinds of records."

Now you are probably going to say these are not suffiiciently debunk (eventhough they did), because you and your like are bias just like the otherside, but again tell me how are these worse than Hillary's bosnia lie, thats what I asked earlier, and thats what I thought you were going to respond to. Hillary assertion is clearly a lie, there is video proof,

Now if this was reversed you would honestly tell me you wouldn't be outraged if Obama lied on Bosnia

33. That's a conservative meme,
The rest of it is "So why not vote for my guy? He's not hypocritical about it." It's designed to put the worst people is office, instead of the best.

All politicians lie. Why? Because all humans lie. But you've got to look at why they lie: either they have to or they want to.

Most politicians are like most people: they only lie when they have to. Obama is like most politicians.

Hillary is one of the few people who lie because they like to lie. If given a choice between a harmless truth and a harmless lie, she will choose the lie. If the lie is advantageous to her, or the truth is harmful, that gives her even more incentive to spin a lie.

28. more Clinton Projection Syndrome
or CPS
it is evidenced by taking facts and reversing them to fit the argument
thereby framing it to your advantage

ie:
obama's supporters keep repeating their new rules for super-delegates = trying to game the rules at every opportunity to defy the democratic process and constantly move the goalposts
obama lies= snipergate
obama is in with the RW = press conference kissy faces with the MSM and Sciafe
obama is bad for the party = endorse the republican over obama
obama is tearing the party apart = tear the party apart with attacks on fellow dems by carville et al.

i think you see the pattern of CPS and probably have examples of CPS in action.
but
it isnt all bad,you can help
a small donation to obama 08 will help to return the center of this horrible dysfunction to chapaqua NY where hopefully it can be quarantined and cured.

124. grow up
Many politicians lie a little, some lie a lot, and a minority lie on any occasion they believe is more advantageous than harmful to their prospects. Hillary lies so much she even does it when it hurts her. She lies to cover up lies. She lies reflexively, without a flinch. She tells white lies and dirty lies. She lies even when she knows that everyone knows she is lying.

Why do all these politicians lie, and why do some, like Hillary, lie so much? Because of smug, complacent apologists like you, Skittles, who don't have the spine to stand up and say we WON'T TOLERATE THIS KIND OF LYING ANY MORE, not after EIGHT HORRIBLE YEARS of an administration MORALLY DIVORCED FROM THE TRUTH. Hillary Clinton, I'm sure, was once an honorable person. Now she is identical to George W. Bush except she's liberal (and sometimes smart).

2. This from a blogger at CD
The following are the diagnostic criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as well as a good description of Hillary Rodham Clinton:

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

9. She is also a diplomatic disaster (Canada, Bosnia):
because she is so focused on herself and the moment, she simply does not see (or does not recognize) the fallout in Canada-US relations and Bosnia-US relations by her actions. Or the fact that she claims to suffer when she is sleep-deprived but wants us to believe that she is ready for a 3 a.m. call! Either she is just spinning around like a top and is just reacting first to one thing or another, or she thinks that somehow she'll be able to sort everything out later, ONCE she has won... I don't know. But she comes across as being inauthentic on so many levels. If she can't even fake sincerity....

No, she's just a bad liar. He's a good liar--that's why you don't notice it. Career politicians who takes money from insurance companies and brokerages are liars by definition. It's all rhetoric--which is just a fancy word for big bag of shit. Okay, that's not true, sometimes it's a photo op. And other times its a rousing speech written by a hired gun.

Get over it.

23. It's not just lying, it's Republican-style reframing of the issue to make your opponent look bad.
Are you losing a nomination fight badly? Do you desperately need votes from delegates who voted for you, but whose votes have already been pre-declared illegal because their states broke a rule? Do you need to take others' call for you to quit campaigning before all the states have had primaries, because you can't possibly numerically win, and turn it around to your favor?

Don't claim "I want those uncounted delegates to count anyway." Don't say "I'm going to stay in till the bitter end, even if I have no chance to win." NO!!!!

Say: "Why doesn't my OPPONENT want those people's voices to be heard? Why does he want to SILENCE them? Why doesn't he want them to have a VOTE? (Patriotic music begins to play, and you step up onto the soapbox) DISENFRANCHISEMENT IS UNAMERICAN!!!!!! And HE, of ALL people, should know it!!"

32. Yes, this 'good cop/bad cop' play act of Obama's isn't flying. Obama sends in his surrogates ...
to damage Clinton as much as possible then puts on the innocent act to boondoggle his followers. He's good at that.

Obama knew early on he could only win the nomination by wholly destroying Hillary, just as he destroyed his competition in the early days of his political ambition. And so, the demolition began in one of the debates, became fiery hot in South Carolina, and then went full throttle when South Carolina worked so successfully. It is now all-consuming within the Chicago-style Obama campaign, the number one priority on his critical path to victory.

And Schlesinger rebuked the leftists who, admiring the USSR, couldnt believe that ugly facts underlie fair words. It was an intellectual tour de force.

But a little more than a decade later, Schlesingerromanced by John F. Kennedywalked away from these arguments. His admiration for the liberalism of a moderate pessimism about man was replaced by hero-worship and a sense of the dashing, aristocratic, articulate Kennedy as someone who could transcend standard political categories.

Am I supposed to believe that supporting Kennedy is in some way comparable to apologizing for Stalinism?

37. Traits of a pathological liar
* Exaggerates things that are ridiculous.

* One-upping. Whatever you do, this person can do it better.

* They "construct" a reality around themselve

* They lie about even the smallest things. For example, saying "I brushed my teeth today," when they didn't.

* They add exaggerations to every sentence.

* They change their story all the time.

* They act very defensively when you question their statements.

* They believe what they say is true, when everyone else knows it isn't.

* Lies when it is very easy to tell the truth.

* Lies to get sympathy, to look beter, to save their butt, etc.

* Fools people at first but once they get to know him, no one believes anything they ever say.

* May have a personality disorder.

* Extremely manipulative.

* Has been caught in lies repeatedly.

* Never fesses up to the lies.

* Is a legend in their own mind.

1.) She lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

2.) Extremely manipulative.

and 3.) Has been caught in lies repeatedly.

For a woman she seems very cold to me and she will do anything to manipulate the issue around her in order to win. She has also been caught in many lies, some big ones and some small ones, but a heck of a lot of them!

Just today it was reported on the Huffington post site HRC is lying again! Can she not help herself?:

When that didn't happen, the script wasn't changed. She read the lines she was supposed to read after "obama told her to drop out." I believe this is what happened with the Bosnia story. It was on the script. She retold that story in her wooden robotic emotionless manner over and over and over again. When facts were revealed that the story wasn't true, the script wasn't changed for 6 months. Her campaign is like a really bad commercial. It lacks any depth or sincerity. It is all about her and not about us.

Truth doesn't matter to her. She will say or do anything. She does not care.

"Josh Marshall and others have commented on the increasingly tortured logic used to support her claims of legitimacy. The ritual recitation of her advisors' byzantine logic is becomingly increasingly meaningless. If the only way to consider her the "winner" was to count the votes of anemic Virgos who cast their ballots by the light of the full moon, that's the argument they'd be making."

Hillary Telling Local Media In Future Voting States That Obama Wants Race To End

By Greg Sargent - April 1, 2008, 11:04AM

Hillary appears to have adopted a concerted strategy of telling local media in states that will vote after Pennsylvania that Obama and his supporters are opposed to allowing those states' residents to vote.

Here's Hillary making that case in an interview with a local TV station in North Carolina...

(Video)

Hillary made similar comments to a Montana station, too, and to one in Indiana. These comments appear to be targeted towards local media; she hasn't to my knowledge gone this far in her speeches or in her comments to the national political press.

While it's true that Obama surrogates have called for her to drop out, the farthest that any Obama campaign official has gone is to say that Hillary almost certainly can't win the contest and that there should be a "sober" evaluation of her chances. And Obama himself has explicitly said she has a right to continue campaigning.

Pennsylvanians from voting.

You're right, this is a bald-faced lie that really annoyed me when I first read it earlier this morning. When did Obama or his supporters ever try to shut down the voting in Pennsylvania?

Clinton expected the race to be over on Super Tuesday at the latest. Her campaign was built around her inevitability, winning Iowa and New Hampshire, and every other candidate dropping out no later than Super Tuesday. She never even had a Plan B that included Pennsylvanians actually having a say in who was the nominee.

She is implying he "wanted" this? She put it out with the intent to make one think she quoted him without stepping on that limb. This was slick, I'll have to say that. His supporters did not want to deny them a chance to vote, they wanted to end the fracturing of the party. In essence she blames her piss poor showings on the Obama supporters. She is the one loosing the damn delegates, not Obama supporters.

If America has set the bar this low in picking our Presidents we deserve her.

Lets see how much tread the media can get off of this tire.

I know the superdelegates read DU. Are ya'll watching this unfold?

I just heard on TV see is comparing herself to Rocky Bilboa. Please tell me my ears deceived me.

I am embarrassed to !

I can't figure out why we didn't get a bowling feat whopper? After the photo-op of Obama bowling, I was certain a whopper would be dressed up ASAP. I suppose after sniper fire and 300 bowling score is sorta unclimatic?

I get it now. Sniper fire, Rocky, ...Rambo, she has been watching Rambo.

 :sarcasm:

on Iraq's WMD programs. If she's telling the truth, she's the biggest dupe in the history of American presidential politics. And if she's not telling the truth . . . don't you have to ask why she really voted for the Iraq invasion\occupation?

My theory: HilBilly wanted to prove how "tough" she was on national security issues to position herself for 2008. So that means HilBilly was willing to sacrifice 25% of Iraq's civilian population (1,000,000+ dead, 2,000,000+ wounded, 4,000,000+ displaced) in pursuit of her political ambition.

Now that's just downright despicable.

110. It is obvious....
the Clintons do nothing without an alterior motive that benefits the Clintons greed for power and money. I hate like hell to feel that way but the obvious is the obvious.

Noone will ever convince me that her vote to authorize IWR was anything other than looking at a political crystal ball. She, along with some others, were perfectly willing to sacrafice our kids and theirs in hopes of a political pay-off later. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Her problem happened when this ticker tape parade her and the others thought they would enjoy as the supposed "cakewalk" unfolded turned into a $10billion a week quagmire and the ammount of death and destruction America doesn't have the stomach for, started showing up at the voting polls. When she gambles she hides the dice and simply grabs another pair and blames the table runner for being blind.

Sickening beyond human comprehension.

But, thats my opinion.

Obama only made that statement so that he wouldnt look like HE was trying to muscle her out in fear of a women's backlash, but he certainly waited a while and had his surrogates come right out with it, pounding on her for a couple weeks.

Ridiculous.

117. Yep.
I have a sneaky feeling that the super delegates are sick of this little song and dance to. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see this fiasco comming to a screaching halt and in short order as well.

I can't see them sitting around and being a witness to this train wreck without a threshold for Party unity. One, is obviously not going to play above the board.

But, I've been wrong before, won't be the first time.

My parents got together at the Selma march and I came along as a result of it.

No. You were born four years before the Selma march.

We saw this week he said a new one was unveiled this week in that same Selma speech, he said my father came to the United States because of the generosity of the Kennedy family.

It turns out the Kennedys funded the program that his father participated in after his father came here.

You know, I was a law school professor.

No, you were an instructor.

I came up with this fantastic asbestos abatement program. I mean we've got a whole series of these for him as well.

(From Karl Rove on Fox. The Repubs are analyzing BOTH of our candidates for inconsistencies, by the way.)

Flashback: Does Michigan Matter to Clinton?

Hillary Clinton, during which she was asked about the Michigan primary:

"I personally did not think it made any difference, whether or not my name was on the ballot. You know, it's clear, in this election they're having, it is not going to count for anything."

If she is the nominee which she may be, but only if the superdelegates override the people, I hope this is not a portent and we end up with another liar in the White House.

The woman is just evil. Sorry but that's how quite a few people feel about her. Just the racist and xenophobic tone of her campaign of late is sufficient reason not to vote for her for president.

153. Normal readers may have noticed that Clintophobes love to falsely accuse the Clintons of lying.
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 06:36 AM by Perry Logan
It's obvious by now that a few people irrationally hate the Clintons to an alarming degree. These people are convinced the Clintons are evil and are lying at every turn. Hardly a day does by at DU without one or two new accusations of what ripping great liars they are. Other Clintophobes join the fray, agreeing with one another over and over again, the better to reinforce their delusional reality.

What an insult to the Democrats who like and support Hillary! But never mind...

I think "Clintophobia" is distinctly pathological. Just look at the crazies who count the number of people the Clintons have murdered in their ruthless quest for power. These people should probably be under psychiatric observation, if not institutionalized. What we're dealing with at DU is only a milder version of the same disorder.

In the mind of the Clintophobe, all accusations against the Clintons are immediately and uncriticially believed to be true. This is a primary symptom of this weird political aberration. Clintophobes can make up a goofy accusation one minute, and believe it the next--a psychological feat comparable to sticking one's head up one's own ass.

Threads like this one appear, trumpeting and repeating the latest accusation(s) against the beleaguered Clinton clan. A quick glance through these threads invariably reveals one or two excellent debunkings of the false accusations.

But the Clintophobes just go on trucking, agreeing with one another about what liars the Clintons are, when it's all a complete fabrication.
