Freeper conspiracy theories about the Dean campaign.
This is so funny that I just HAD to post it. Check it out!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1018979/posts

To: concerned about politics

This my theory:

Most of Dean's donations come from on-line credit card donations. These are under the amount necessary to require reporting to the FEC.

I think that big bucks are coming in from overseas and from a few leftists here in this country.

If said big-bucks donors deposit money in a compliant bank (say...Citibank) and a bunch of dummy credit card accounts are created, all with limits under the FEC threshold, then donations can be sent to his campaign at pre-determined times (say when he announces a fund drive) with a simple computer program. The credit card accounts are paid from the big-bucks donors.

No people to track down, no records, and he flouts the campaign laws without detection.

I absolutely do not believe that there are people donating to his campaign in the numbers he claims.

To: Miss Marple

I think I am right about all that money...it isn't coming from small donors.

The majority of the Democrat base lives off social programs. They have no money.
That's how the Buddist Monks came into the picture.
Dean is pro-homo, pro-death. He probably gets a lot of his cash through pro-misery groups / communist-socialist organizations overseas.

29. That poster is a laugh, yes. Look at this one:
To: Congressman Billybob

My husband was telling me Dean is internet illiterate. He can't even figure out the e-mail system. Others do his net working for him. He could never get past 'Log in.'
I asked him if he was kidding, and he said no. It was on the car radio, and he thinks it was NPR. It was during the solar flair, and it was the only station that would come in. (It was 91.1 on the dial in NY, what ever that is).
Dean isn't quite the 'metro-tech-up to date guy' he tries to appear to be. He's sort of a backwords small state leftie. He doesn't really have much to offer.
If he can't even check his own e-mail, how the heck does he plan on running a whole country?
I'll guess he throws up every morning out of pure terror. I don't think he's any where near qualified for the presidency. He's like Bill Clinton. He'll be totally lost being in charge. He'll hide from everything the same way Clinton the coward did.

If a dem calls Bush a coward we are considered unpatriotic traitors for criticizing the president in a time of war. If a freeper calls Clinton a coward it is all fine and dandy.

8. Sounds like they can't believe that there are that many "leftists" here.
I just finished reading "Dude, Where's My Country". Moore argues that America is NOT a "conservative" nation. Instead, he makes the point that we are a nation of socialists, and furthermore, that the right wing knows it. That's why they're so shrill and terrified all the time.

Maybe the actual implementation of this evil agenda of Shrub's has caused more that a few sleepers to wake up and smell the coffee. It will be very interesting to see what the right does after 2004. Will they give up power peacefully?

We live in interesting times, indeed. You know, the world wasn't always like it is now. Ask an 80 year old what it was like growing up. It could be that way again, if we allow this election to slip through our fingers.

To: Wphile

I wasn't suggesting we be complacent. I was just saying that if Bush loses, he'll lose by a significant EV margin. If he wins, it'll be a significant EV win. This won't be a razor-thin Florida recount repeat of 2000.

Bush does have lots of things in his favor, though. He's a Republican, he's running for re-election rather than an open seat, he was elected after 8 years of Democrat WH control, he won't have an opponent in the NH primary, and he will have more money than his Dem opponent. These are about the best conditions he could hope for. I don't think a presidential candidate has ever lost with these advantages.

63 posted on 11/10/2003 4:39 PM MST by GraniteStateConservative ("We happy because when we switch on the TV you never see Saddam Hussein. That's a big happy.")

Let's see, what are the things in Bush's favor? He's a Republican and he has money? The rest of the reasons this guy lists won't matter at all or have no bearing whatsoever on Bush's chances!

The world is divided in two categories

Buddhist monks obviously belong to category 2. Therefore, they're evil and part of the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy.

a conspiracy theory...

To: huck von finn

Really? Are you aware of the practice of money-laundering, which Demnodrats have been caught doing on numerous occasions? Are you aware that Democrats have lots of supporters who do not donate? Are you aware that most Democrat candidates counted on soft money to run their campaigns? How about all those illegal donations in the 92 and 96 Clinton campaigns?

I know quite a few democrats, and most do not donate until they get to the general election. None donate over the nternet...they don't even order books from Amazon. College students do not have enough money to account for the size of Dean's donations. Neither do university professors.

Large scale donors from the past, both from Hollywood and Wall Street, as well as foreign dnors, would be more than happy to help with a scheme such as this.

Yes, it is a theory. I do not think it is a tin-foil type fantasy, though.

I am ALWAYS thnking of the past behavior of the criminal party in order to think what else they will try.

She thinks contributions under $200 don't have to be reported by individual.

Send her here: http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?_23992096077+0

49. you know what this means, right?
they pound illegitimacy into the Dean campaign for a year, until eventually even those who actually have a few brain cells begin to believe it.

Then, when Dean wins, they are justified in using any means necessary to prevent him from taking office, due to the illegitimacy. Their violence will be (to them) for the good of 'Murica.

Just like FL in 2000. Convince the brain-dead that votes are being stolen, thus they can shut down LEGITIMATE vote counts in the name of democracy. Projection is their #1 weapon.

you heard it here first. It will happen (regardles of which Dem wins)

63. Miss Marple gets points because her theory was much
more elaborate. It involved overseas money, fake bank accounts, and fake credit cards distributed who knows where. It also included a lack of reporting. As much as I'd like to give some DUers credit, their theories are NOTHING compared to hers!

Oh--and Miss Marple got help from Concerned About Politics, who threw Buddhist monks into the mix.

Nope, you can't beat that!

82. MORE conspiracy and how to use the Patriot Act to snoop
into campaign finance...:

To: concerned about politics

The majority of the Democrat base lives off social programs. They have no money.

I've often wondered about where all their money comes from.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the Patriot Act that they all despise so much actually enabled our intelligence folks to trace the source of all those "donations."

Maybe even a few coming in from some folks otherwise hiding out in the Middle East?

77. for those too young to remember
The "Buddhist monks" jibe probably refers to the so-called scandal where Al Gore attended a fund-raiser at a Buddhist monastery. Allegedly some Indonesian or Chinese used some of the monks and nuns as straw donors to get around donation limits. But IIRC, no charges were ever filed, despite the efforts of the Repug Congress to make hay about it.

I just ordered from Amazon, using the DU link. I also used my credit card :eyes:

For the record, I've been earning a paycheck since I was 12 and luckily have held a job ever since. Where do they get their ideas?

I also suspect that Dean knows how to send and receive email.

:freak:

More shock for the freepers... My husband and I will donate to candidates in the primaries, via the Internet, with a credit card.

Sheesh... their posts are down right insulting to working Americans.

98. Look at this one--from a new freeper (so maybe a joke)--
To: concerned about politics

I think Dean gets money from political "turtles" who break the hearts of young writers. Sometimes those writers even start to feel a little burned out.

During this burn-out time, they start making donations to Dean. Since most writers know about Buddhism, this makes total sense.

It is absolutely true that Dean is insane. His operatives call themselves: "Deaneacs".

107. Again, a FReeper makes a surreal post.
I have no idea what this means, or what it has to do with "writers".

Writers as in journalists? What would someone breaking a journalist's heart have as a reason to then go and donate money to the Dean campaign? How are these two things correllated?

Does this have something to do with the ProudCon1776's real experiences or something? Was he/she a burned-out writer?

How would knowing about Buddhism make you contribute to Dean? I think I'm missing something if it's supposed to make "total sense".

100. THE TURTLE CONSPIRACY!
At first I thought this was a joke, but it's not!

To: huck von finn

If you don't know I'm not going to tell you. It was all over Hannity last week during the Memogate scandal.

But be aware, that political turtles are the core of the Dean campaign. Turtles live a long time...like Hillary, and they will try to wait out Dean.

It is simply not possible that SO MANY small donations are going to Dean. It must be the turtles.
