A news report about a court filing by a Missouri City, Texas, woman who claims President Bush raped her was posted on the Internet prematurely and without sufficient fact-checking, says the editor of the paper.

The story, published Wednesday by the Fort Bend Star, said Margie Schoedinger also claims that Bush conspired with the FBI and local police to cover up his alleged crime.

"This report wasn't supposed to go up yet," Jean Sandlin, an editor for the paper, told WorldNetDaily. Speaking of Schoedinger, Sandlin added: "I had heard she was a nutcase."

This story was more than discredited. So why are they running this. WHo is their audience (who reads worldnetdaily). What does it mean that they are running this?

16. this one is wacked - its a nonstory

most interesting thing is seeing it - months delayed - picked up by a "media" source. Have often wondered about this source (don't see it often but have poked around the site).

Wonder what it means.

But as to the story they are reporting? Don't put any eggs in that basket. Folks did a lot of digging at the time (as one would expect) - including communication, I believe, with the courthouse where the filing took place (to verify it).

I can file a court document charging a local official with larceny, and their would be a record of that filing. So yes, it has been verified that there has been a filing.

Is it criminal? Then there would have to be some evidence to back it up for local authorities to commit to the case enough for a filing.

I think it is civil. In which case, as I stated before, all that I need to do is file.

So yes, believe that it has been filed. That is fact.

But the woman's story is wildly inconsistent with holes - huge gaping holes. Folks did a lot of digging, as you can imagine. More than a few duers when the story first leaked (that it had just been filed) wanted to see it be true.

is absolute gibberish, written by the woman making the charge. I worked with a Texas reporter on this last year, and it came up to exactly bupkus. The woman in question has some emotional issues, so saith the reporter down there.
