COVERING NOTE: At this point the investigation into Vote Fraud 2004 is at a very early stage. There is new evidence being found all the time, much of which this compiler has not had time to read yet. Several organised investigations are underway which will probably take quite a long time to report back. The following therefore is not meant to be the final word in terms of proof of vote fraud. Indeed this collection of posts is not meant to "proove" anything. It is very much just a tentative beginning providing an overview of the gnarly unanswered questions that the media as a whole ought to be asking, but aren't. - C.D. Sludge

6. Yes.. that association is growing increasingly unfortunate...
The report was launched in 1999 and back then I was not aware of the association of Sludge with Drudge... should have been but wasn't. The Sludge in the name of the report comes from a book by a local NZ businessman who calls all reporters Sludge.

But no there is no association with the other Sludge.

The Sludge report has carried a few other big reports in this developing story including

4. Isn't this all moot in a short time when states certify their results?

5. Not sure what the legal status is...
NOt sure what the legal status is... in detail anwyay. The purpose of this compendium article - other than simply widening the degree of understanding on this issue - it goes out by email to around 1300 people - is attempting to further strengthen the case to the DNC that they should prevent the certification of results in some states.

7. Exit poll v. actual by voting type graph is misleading.
I've been posting this in various places because I think it's important that we stop using this graph. The breakdown of states by voting type in this analysis is dubious at best.

http://www.scoop.co.nz/mason/stories/HL0411/S00124.htm#6

NH, WI, and MN all have, to my knowledge, paper ballots. This is not to say fraud could not have occurred in optical scan - but there are many states on the paper ballot side that have optical scan.

What I am saying is, this graph of exit vs. actual by voting type is not anywhere close to solid and is, in fact, misleading.

Keith Olbermann, about the only guy to report this story, had one piece of advice. That we site sources and make solid claims.

If this graph got out and was used by someone as evidence of fraud it would get slammed down in 10 seconds. I suggest we stop using it and reframe the exit poll debate as "swing state v. non-swing state."
