Savage hits another group - seniors who lived thru the depression
Ad for his show has been played many times.

Starts with his comment that he's talking about the biggest gimme generation in history.

I thought sure he meant baby-boomers - all those who 'destroyed America in the 60s.'

No, it's the people who think 'we owe everything to them because they lived during the depression'....

...they want prescriptions, houses, money.......actually I get so stunned I can't remember the list.

Aren't many of these people WWII vets and spouses??? the 'Greatest Generation'??????

???????????????

Savage can't be described in words that are used for humans.

2. That's just sick. My grandparents and parents were devastated
by the Depression, and my mom was a Rosie the Riveter and my dad, the son of tenant farmers, was a WW2 navigator.

What a disgusting excuse for DNA.

3. Odd my family always said one has to save for their old age....
My father and his brothers are from the 1910-20 age and they all figured they would not get SS so saved for their own retirement. My father got very ill and had to retire early and did it on his own saving. I do not see that as a give me group at all. These are the men that started working in 1928 etc. My uncle could not go to college and he was top in his high school so took a job where he was trained for 2 or 3 years and then opened his own business with night jobs and wife working and built it into a very large business as my other uncle did and as my father did. these people helped their country. That guy is nuts.

4. There are not
a whole lot of people left that lived through the depression I bet. I was born in 1934. Many friends in my age group are long gone. Mom and Dad have been gone for years. Yes, that age group provided the warriors for WW Two, Korea.

Buncha gimmie gimmie cry babies?

Sure, you Savage Jerk.

14. Nah!
Plenty of people who were born in the late teens and early twenties are alive, and remember the Depression followed by a world war all too well. Yes, they were blessed by having New Deal programs in place during their prime working years, combined with the lowest tax burden imaginable in a complex country. However, this "gimme" generation is elderly, and surviving widows have discovered that their husband's pension died with him. They're left with nothing but spousal social security to live on, and it doesn't stretch to the multiple medications that are keeping them alive.

I'm sure Savage has just caused a lot of these "greedy grannies" to rethink the conservatism they've embraced since the 1960s and the mass rebellion against materialistic values. These grannies VOTE, and you can be sure they're not going to vote for anybody Savage likes.

As usual, right wing overstatement and scapegoating will have the opposite effect from the one that the spewing gasbags intended.

11. Republican talk radio has always been mean, vicious hate-mongers but it
usually to reap havoc on their "perceived" enemies - (Anybody that does not goose-step to the Republican agenda). But even for the hate-mongers, this is an all time low.

that suffer the wrath of the mighty wurlitzer; the welfare mothers, the unemployed, the poor. Not beating up on Seniors.

13. I know alot of Repugs who denounce that idiot...
He's so vile and full of pure hate that even Repigs hate his guts. They still have that fucker on hate radio here in Wichita though. Just listening to the ads for his shows makes me wonder how any station owner would pay to have that shit on their airwaves. No matter how much you hate Dems that guy is so far off the edge its unbelievable.

17. I once got into a cab where the driver had him on.
The driver was Muslim, so I was kind of surprised. Anyway, after two blocks or so I asked him politely to turn it off until I got out of the cab. The driver laughed, said sure, and told me he just listened to him because once he did he knew he had already heard the worst thing he would hear all day. So I guess he does have a purpose, of sorts.

19. I had a discussion with a young friend of mine who came to visit
one day. He is an "odd jobs" man and has no real job. I like him as he is pleasant and seems to be responsible.

He is a "digger" (clams) and does odd jobs for the summer residents here. His wife is a home health aide worker. He has a couple of kids. Yet he is seemingly existing by his wits and has no permanent job. I have no problem with that, Many here exist by their wits.

His argument was: Why should I pay for a senior citizen to have open heart surgery when they will only live for another few years or so? He was upset that he had to contribute to SS and enable a senior citizen to have a heart operation on his money.

I could not get it across to him that someday he himself will be up there in years. Nope, we cannot tell you younguns what it is like.

It did not matter. What he was most concerned about was his own survival and that of his family' his two young children.

So, here we are. Senior citizens would do well to realize that they are responsible for tenaciously holding to thier rights and not exploited by those young persons who resent their very existance in this world, much less their "operations" that would ease their suffering in the last days of their life.

This world in this American has become really heartless, unfeeling and exploitative. Human beings have not evolved to the point where they will recognize the value in protecting all memebers of society.

By the logic of this young person, who does not have a job that in any way would contribute to SS as most likely he fudges on his income tax return and does not report the money he makes under the table by doing these odd jobs and digging clams, we, all of us, should reject paying anything to help anyone at all--and when I think of it, that would also include babies and children who have an incurable disease but who also demand enormous amounts of money to be kept alive for a year or two.

Who decides which life is more important? Who do we all pay for? The life of a baby that is doomed in a couple of years or the life of a elderly person who may gain a few years without suffering by a heart operation.? Do we do away with all of it?

21. Has anybody written him and told him that most
seniors who lived during the depression are dead? My rather dead mother was of that generation and believe me she wasn't out protesting in the sixties. I was.

WHAT A MORAN!!!

22. The strategy is to lower the bar of expectations for the next generations.
If everything that seniors recieve is derided, the thought of recieving any benefit will be anethema to the brain-washed populace.

Now that I've got that out of the way....Michael Savage is a goddammed little puke-faced shit for brains that will recieve a well-deserved kick in the ass if I ever see him in the gutter, where he will hopefully wind up some day.

23. This Savage sounds like a pretty good guy
to make the poster-child of the true fascist nature of right-wing intentions towards the elderly and disabled.

If you could get the exact text of that ad, I'd love to have it to put between quotes.
