Rumsfeld Challenges Rice on 'Tactical Errors' in Iraq
Hennen asked Rumsfeld: "Do you agree with that? Have we made thousands of tactical errors? And does that concern you?"

Rumsfeld replied: "I don't know what she was talking about, to be perfectly honest."

Rumsfeld pointed to the nature of the Iraq war -- unpredictable from the start -- as the reason the United States has had to change tactics over the past three years.

"If you had a static situation and you made a mistake in how you addressed the static situation, that would be one thing," he said. "What you have here is not a static situation, you have a dynamic situation with an enemy that thinks, uses their brain, constantly adjusts, and therefore our commanders have to constantly make tactical adjustments."

4. It's the bad news, Don it's the bad news.
You've GOT to put a stop to it, do you hear? We all know the Iraq was is actually a stunning success, except for the negative publicity.

Eliminate the negative = you've got success.

Even if it's people from your own administration, you better get them to quit saying stuff like that.

6. rumsfeld lives to a warriors code
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 09:10 PM by sweetheart
He's bound to the warriors code,
where every unregrettable act, remains so sadly unrepented,
except the flaw in his bushido of olde,
his failure a hirikiri error, his armour appears undented.

The old wrestler's then gonna go down, "pin", 6 points we're told,
yet the fact remains he was derelict,
and his duty is sullied, no matter what repentant fix he's sold,
and were he a real warrior he, rumsfeld err reflect.
Its time to pull the plug on thee,
military bullshit factory.

7. Love it. At the next Cabinet meeting I bet you'll be able to just FEEL
the love between these two.

Hunter S. Thompson is worth invoking frequently. His remarks on the Nixon years were informative for us these days as the wheels fly off the Bush administration's freedomwagon in the Middle East.

Of Nixon's troubles, Thompson wrote that when the indictments began to criss-cross every paper in the land and it was apparent that SEVERAL people were going down, "Nixon's men turned on each other like rats in a slumfire."

"Like rats in a slumfire." This piece with Condiliar and Uncle Don sniping at each other is just what we'd expect from two people whose fingerprints are all over Bush's huge historical failure in Iraq. "Thousands of tactical errors." Including countless ones by both of these two folks.

26. Don't forget, too, that he's probably still nursing a grudge.
After all, let's all remember the tug-of-war between the two of them, awhile back, for the job of "coordinator of post-war Iraq." contradicta won. And typical of her world-class talent for being a tragically phenomenal fuck-up, she screwed this one up, too. If you want something royally and hopelessly and colossally botched, put condi on it. I'm sure rummy's male ego was mightily bruised when that "little gal" beat him to this big plum job. Not that he'd have handled it any better.

I'd bet money that there are LOTS of hard feelings between the two of them. rummy doesn't like to be shown up, or beaten at any game. It's probably even a bigger blow if he's beaten by a female.

all so damned sure it was going to be a cakewalk, slam dunk, piece of cake, we'll be greeted with flowers and candy, yada, yada, yada.
NOW he says it was unpredictable from the start? No, it was VERY predictable and the dire warnings were coming from all directions. Rummy and friends just chose to ignore the truth to push their own demented agenda.

19. You go to war with the tactics that you have . . .
Not the effective tactics you wish you had . . .

Because success doesn't even matter. He's actually brilliant, because their cronies are all in the business of destroying things and then building things that have been destroyed.

They have set up the perfect revenue stream of death and profit. The fact that it is a massive failure just plays right into their wallets.

29. That phrase he used there... "to be perfectly honest."
Sure does ring hollow when it comes out of Don Rumsfeld's mouth.

Saying there'd been a thousand tactical errors in Iraq might be the one lone singular time Condi Rice ever told the truth.

30. Rumsfeld Challenges Rice on 'Tactical Errors' in Iraq
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/05/AR2006040502269_pf.html

By Josh White
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, April 6, 2006; A21

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said he did not know what Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was talking about when she said last week that the United States had made thousands of "tactical errors" in handling the war in Iraq, a statement she later said was meant figuratively.....

*snip*

uh um oh uh...WHAT? really? you are in the innermost sanctum of team shrub and you can't get your stories straight?

35. This kind of "in-fighting" is common within a fascist organization.
The "pecking order" is determined by your position in relation to the Leader. The Leader is always rearranging departments and leadership and giving perks and "nods" to one or another of His minions for the sole purpose of creating this jealousy and strife. It is a type of reinforcement for the Leader and is an object lesson for all young Himmlers on the way up...

fascist organizations.

Hitler was able to play one bureaucratic fiefdom off another as a way of maintaining and expanding his own power, especially after 1937.

40. Tactical errors from a layman (assuming you get over invading in the
first place was stupid):

1. Firing the iraqi army.
2. Not having sufficient personel in theatre for crowd control.
3. Not arranging for near immediate elections.

Of course the flaw was going in and deposing dictatorship while at the same time wanting the geopolitical cohesion that the dictatorship provided rather than the current fractured reality that is resulting from self-determination ie., a separate Kurdish north, balance of the nation dominated by Shiites and Iran, and a now rebellious adverse and still large Sunni minority.
