Reply #45: I bought some pads and some slender tampons months before my daughter

had her first period. She hasn't shown any interest in the tampons yet, but that's her choice. When summer comes and she wants to go swimming, I expect she'll give them a try. I bought her a book about sex and puberty, assuming she'd want something to refer back to in addition to the conversations we've had. Judging by the condition of the book, it's been read a lot. :-)
