24. You don't have to lard up.
As some others have mentioned, coconut oil can be used.

My mom eats it every day for Alzheimer's. I have no problem getting her to eat muffins, cakes, cookies, brownies, or oatmeal made with coconut oil. And they're all vegan, LOL. (Not that she eats vegan the rest of the time.) Her doctor took her off both Alzheimer's meds. /

She did so/so on one Alzheimer's med + coconut oil. I didn't realize how much CO was helping her until I stopped cooking with it for awhile, and she went they added another medication. Then she REALLY started getting worse. Much worse. So she was taken off both drugs. Luckily I read an article on coconut oil and Alzheimer's around that time so I knew why she had gotten worse, and that I needed to start using it again. Now she's better than she was pre-medication. Not perfect, mind you. But stable, and not in a constant state of agitation.
