(And yes I said Maddow, MADDOW MADDOW MADDOW for you elite Republicans obsessed with intercepting all communications about her)

The bottom line is that about 50% of the Republican base would agree with you, government shouldn't define the parameters of acceptable marriage, its between an individual and their church and their God, government should stick to their own business. However a small minority of "Republicans" can't resist the lucrative abuse of government power the moment they have it, and proceed to use it to stuff the pockets of corporations and put secret cameras in people's bedrooms to monitor their sexuality. Unfortunately, this small minority seems to hold power in Washington, even though they don't represent the will of the people. But they are imposters: their proper name is "corporatists", and they don't represent the will of real civil libertarians who consider themselves Republican, they represent the will of a cabal of corporations who appear to yearn to form a totalitarian shadow state allowed to do all the things the constitution forbids so long as its executed by the "private sector".

But the good news is that the people of the United States don't appear to be buying it anymore. As the old right vs left paradigms break down under the scrutiny of public observation, a new resistance is being formed, not "right" or "left" but by the people and for the people. And due to MLK's accurate observation: "The arc of history is long but it bends toward justice", the best advice I can give right now may be this:

Let's come together and make a world that's about something more than profit for corporations who can afford to buy government influence.
