How the government (purhaps republicans) will put what we say and how we vote under complete control

Right now the Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence is supporting two bills (HR2159, HR2401) that will remove your ability to buy a gun if you are on the terrorist black list or the no fly list. I’m sure most people know that Ted Kennedy, children and hundreds of thousands of innocent people are on that list. This list already bans you from flying without a trial or judgement in court, which is already a huge risk and a good reason to have the list eliminated.


If it is reasonable to ban people on that list from owning guns, shouldn’t it also be reasonable to ban them from voting or protesting? Isn’t it reasonable to ban them from using the internet? Imagine terrorists voting, terrorists talking to each other online and thousands of terrorists gathering in front of the white house to protest.

People need to wake up and understand that using the terrorist watch list to ban people from practicing civil liberties will be a way for the government to remove the rights of anyone who they simply dislike by putting them on this list. Anyone could make an anonymous call to turn you in and screw you over just because they don’t like you. Once the government can ban you from owning a gun, voting or expressing yourself online just because you are on their “terrorist watch list” this country will truly be just another banana republic.
