142. I'm not sure he's a Protestant...
I do think however that he is pro-union (that's just my feeling, don't have anything to back that up with).

The way I see it, the author is trying to say that their is more to Irish culture than drinking, which is sadly what St. Patrick's day has become.

But ultimately the author is wrong. People get pissed up on the 17th not because they are trying to perpetuate a negative stereotype, but rather most are looking for any excuse to get smashed.
