79. I think we're in agreement on most levels. It's the "I want reliable information..." part.

That is also what you are on about, and I understand that completely. A lot of bullshit information is being repeated here and just about everywhere else. I have another post up about the difference in CNN/I coverage and CNN/America coverage. On the "International" version, they were reporting about cesium detection and what it means, they were reporting about the seawater being pumped in...meanwhile, CNN/America was still showing the same video loops, still talking to "experts" who knew even less about what was going on than the bubble-headed news reader did.

I'm right there with you, Hannah...I want some accurate information. But you almost seem to be content, or at least take comfort, with the notion that the officials in charge -- who are themselves in a panic situation more than you or I could ever realize -- are simply telling us truth because they wouldn't want to see people needlessly hurt. That's where we part company. I don't feel I, as you say, "have to trust the authorities." Just the opposite. I have to assume they're telling me whatever is in their best interest in order to prevent widespread panic.

That's not to say they might be absolutely correct and telling us the 100% truth. But I just see absolutely no reason to suspect they would be doing so. I've lived too long, seen too much to think that things are suddenly different, so I START from the position that we're being lied to on some level. We always learn later that things weren't as we were being told. Always.
